Beef Burgers (from Jamie Oliver)
If you are having a BBQ or just want to indulge in a burger please don’t go out and buy them, I insist you make your own. It’s too easy. These taste so good you’ll want to open a takeaway shop
Jamie says this makes about 4 burgers, I say this makes about 10!
You need:
1 kg of minced beef
2 red onions finely chopped
2 eggs
1-2 handfuls of fresh white bread crumbs
1 tab crushed coriander seeds
1 pinch of cumin seeds crushed or 1 teasp of dried cumin)
1 big fat teasp of Dijon mustard
Lots of salt and pepper.
·You can roast these or BBQ them
·So preheat the oven of you are chucking them in the oven.
·Now crush the cumin and coriander seeds HINT: they are so much better than dried spices and since there is nothing else to do in this recipe I have to find you something to do.
·Slice the onions, destroy a couple of slices of fresh white bread
·Then whiz the onions, the spices, the breadcrumbs, the mustard and the eggs in a whizzer.
·Ok open the wine, pour a drink then
·Throw all those ingredients in a big bowl with the minced beef and give it a good mix
·Add more bread crumbs if it’s a bit soggy
·Then mould them into snazzy burger shapes as big or small as you like.
·Make some aioli, roast some capsicums, find some rocket in the fridge
·Now time to BBQ or roast the burgers.
·Serve with some bread rolls, the rocket, aioli, capsicum and anything else you feel like.
·Watch as the crowd devours the burgers and the idea of making their own dinner
·Watch as the adults drink more wine and then ignore or strangle the children
·Another relaxing night with friends!
