You need as an entrée or side dish for about 12 fashionista, 10 metrosexuals or 30 models:
500g haloumi
½ pomegranate
1 tbsp lemon juice
2 tbsp extra-virgin olive oil
6 large basil leaves, finely sliced
Freshly cracked black pepper
Crusty bread, to serve
- Slip into your cashmere Chanel leisure suit: what is this weather?!
- Pour a glass of wine . Gulp and relax.
- Repeat: I will give up drinking next week. Repeat..
- Say thanks to the American dollar gods for a fabulous week of shopping online.
- Preheat a large non-stick frying pan or chargrill over high heat.
- Ask George Clooney to slice up the Haloumi into 1cm-thick slices. You are far too tired.
- Cook for 1-2 minutes per side or until golden as your new Chloe bag.
- Gulp another glass of wine.
- Repeat Drinking Mantra.
- Throw the haloumi nonchalantly across a platter
- Then sprinkle with the pomegranate seeds : the easiest way to do this is to hold the pomegranate half over the platter and hit the rind with a wooden spoon: think of your ex husbands.
- Drizzle the lemon juice and olive oil over the haloumi
- Accessorise with a sprinkling of basil and black pepper.
- Serve with divine chunky slices of crusty bread.
- Superb!
