What: Wide leg, high waist denim jeans.
Why: What a divine look from Derek Lam. A white shirt and wide leg jeans from New York fashion week last October. Last year. What?! So long ago in fashion time but please look at it. So chic, so right, so simple. A clean, white shirt back with chic wide leg jeans never looked so fabulous!
Wear: Also seen at Celine, this an easy look to get together. You want 70’s style jeans in a floppy relaxed fabric. Wear it right now , like Gabrielle Hackworthy below, with a white equipment shirt and toss on a blazer. (An Hermes shoulder bag would be nice too). Try wide leg jeans with a grey or stripe Tee or with a camel coat. In winter you can wear these jeans with a biker jacket and, of course, the faux fur vest seen everywhere. You need to add a thin belt with the shirt tucked in. The idea is to show off the waist. This is an ageless look and anyone can wear it. Wear with wedges or heels that peek out from under the hem: Talk about leg lengthening.
Where: Sass and Bide, Gap, J Brand who ship to Australia, Notify and MIH Mid rise flare at net a porter, Calvin Klein at Just jeans, 7 for all mankind at shopbop, and Sportsgirl .

How about we take this look one step further and accomodate the mothers with a thicker mid section. Witchery, sprortscraft etc. have some loose white t-shirts that will sit off from the stomach and drape below the crutch line. The wide leg is super elongating for the shorter woman who is too afraid to try this look. Give it a go!
Hey the Seven for all Mankind Store in Paddington has a great wide leg jean I think its called the Dojo and another more 70’s inspired style (highwaisted, washed denim) for only $199! I bought mine and love them with a nude little fitted blazer and nude patent heels!
Thanks so much ! But I do believe it’s about the tucking in your top whatever size you are; loose tees will make anyone look fatter ! A bit of shape is better than no shape!
Thanks so much! Love to hear what FiFi readers buy & any insider shopping tips…sounds chic with the Blazer!
