What: A Denim skirt
Which: You want a denim skirt this summer. We first fell in love with a denim skirt way back in September 2009 drooling over Stella McCartney’s spring collection. It’s the perfect little cheap but chic number to go from day to evening. The best style is the classic pencil skirt look. It could have buttons down the front. It might be in faded chambray denim but it could also be in chic dark blue denim. It could have pockets or just go for a skirt that is simple. It can sit just on the knee or go shorter if your legs are begging to be shown off.
Why: Because denim is a hot trend. Because it will go from winter to spring with a change of heels. Because a denim skirt will break up all your black. Because it will dress down silk and sequins. Because it’s ageless. Because if Carine Roitfeld can rock a denim skirt so can you.
Wear: Try a denim skirt with a simple stripe tee or black tank. Try it with a silky shirt tucked in. Toss it back with a simple blazer and a white tee. You could even do denim on denim a la Shala Monroque. Love a denim skirt with wedges, your fav stomp-a-licious heels or simple one strap sandals. If you’ve got the legs then you can try a denim skirt with flats but it can be tricky to pull that off. Tip: Leather jackets back with denim can get scary.

Hi Fifi love love love your blog every week but I did the scout around the denim skirts you suggested today and that Witchery one is waaay short! I think the photo might have tricked me as it looks knee length like the others.
