A top to wear under a sharp blazer.
A simple basic that wouldn’t cling to the bad bits.
A top that would sit under the Balmain Blazer without looking bulky.
Can I find a chic fashion one anywhere? No, the world is full of ugly scoop neck tops, daggy polo necks or skanky cotton T-shirts.
My cycling maniac friend Andy tells me to go to Kathmandu. Shopping there is like an adventure sport. I see heart monitors (perfect for shopping in Prada). I see water bladders. Don’t ask. I see a fabulous Merino wool top that has beautiful seams and a fabulous cut. In perfect fine and soft Merino wool. Divine. Plus it’s on sale for $98. It’s all you need for extreme shopping. When I pay the man with the ponytail he tells me that when you go hiking you don’t need to wash it for a week. Me? Hiking? Must have been the lace up gladiators with the spikes.

Fifi what is your opinion on the classic round neck on a fashionista with bountiful bosoms? I just don’t know if I can rock the frenchy look (and knowing how much you hate the scoop) when I have always been trained to wear the V….thoughts?
Oh, I love a classic round neck on a bountiful and bootiful bosom! I don’t care what those makeover queens say about scoops on bosoms : scientific tests have proved the more black you put on an area, the smaller it looks! But yes I love V necks too…as long as it’s not wide around the shoulders! A small V neck makes the neck look longer and will look great under a blazer.
If you would like another option to a long sleeve tee which is great under anything (and I do mean anything)have you tried the “Bellisima” range of Italian made items? You can choose from round, scoop, v-neck and even skivvy neck! They act as a second skin so maybe not so ideal on their own, but FABULOUS under blazers, knits etc. Great for transeasonal dressing too. Adds a bit of warmth without the weight and doesn’t ‘grab’ onto the layer of clothing on top, as cotton and woollen long tees can. I have several in different colours and they are soooooo handy!
