FiFi’s Beach Shopping Guide Specatular!

What: Kaftan / Beach Cover up (Michael Kors pictured).
Why: Because none of us have a body like Elle Macpherson. Because we can’t walk to the beach just wearing skimpy bathers. Because we need to stop sun damage. Because we need something to cover the flabby, wobbly cellulite.
Which: Go for a anything in fabulous bright colours, in cotton, or muslin. Go for shirt dresses, a bright print kaftan or simple chic black or white.
Where: Economy: Go to Tree of Life for THE best selection at great prices from $45: Target for a simple white plunge v-neck kaftan $34: Seafolly at David Jones for kaftans in brown or orange $69; or try David Jones for the label ‘The Two Mrs Glenvilles’ from about $69.
Business Class: Go to Country Road they have a fantastic selection of beachwear such as a fabulous cotton shirt dress with a belt $159 in white or grey or go for the dark denim elastic drop waist dress; Go to Zimmerman for ultra luxe silk aqua kaftan $250 or head to Vintage cargo in Double Bay for fabulous caftans in great colours.

First Class: Louis Vuitton, JG4B at Christensen Copenhagen, D&G, Missoni or Stella McCartney Cruise Collection.

What: Sunglasses (Marni pictured).
Why: Because they are glamorous and you are a glamour puss. Because you don’t want to squint. This means wrinkles. Because you want to be a movie star. Because you want to be anonymous. Because the bigger the sunglasses the skinnier the celeb.
Which: Go for big, black and oversized a la Jackie O or try 80’s style Rayban wayfarers, white or coloured frames, cats eyes. Tortoiseshell is always chic. And we still adore aviators. Please ditch the wrap around.
Where: Economy: We LOVE Roc Eyewear : it’s very cool and great prices! Go for the ‘Dani’ aviators in black and red $59; the Flick in any colour $59 or go for the Mylo $59. They will ship anywhere in Australia for $10. Perfect. Which: Go for groovy 70’s style floppy hats, sunvisors, or anything with a big wide brim. The cute pull on, cotton bucket hats still look cool but do they shade out the sun? The Cow Boy hat is still OK only if it’s floppy and frayed.
Where: Economy: try Sportsgirl for a cool white trilby $24; Target for chic, white grosgrain ribbon wide-brimmed hat $19 and the Bondi Beach Bag company for all sorts of colours and shapes. Head to Myer where I spied a great selection of cotton hats at great prices.
Business Class: Mimco for fabulous wide brim hat sin all sorts of colours, $79: Country Road for chic, little cotton pull on hats in great prints that actually cover the face as well as a straw cowboy style hat. Try to Wittner shoes for all sorts of cool sunhats; Bondi Beach Bag Co have multi colour floppy brim raffia hats from about $29 or head to My Island Home for the best simple panama straw hats $129. Vintage cargo also have chic trilby style panama hats from about $168
First Class: Easton Pearson for a chic black wide brimmed hat or try Burberry/Chanel/Gucci for a sunvisor.
