MNG: There are some good pieces here and they have already brought in next summer as they work in the Northern hemisphere season. This is good news. They pick up on the trends here first. And it’s important for all FiFi Report readers to be first. The fab slogan T shirts are great here from David Bowie to silver metallic prints. The cotton stone classic double breasted trench is a great length – long and not skimpy - and is a great cut $259.Also here are some short, tight, nylon zip front bomber jackets in navy or red. Way cool! The jeans, the zip hoodies and track pants are good here too. The brown crop leather jacket is fabulous. It has patch pockets and sits just above the waist. Throw it over jeans, wear it to work with all black or try it over a pretty soft print dress $349. The black satin Stella McCartney copy of the sack dress is the go $249 The big silver bag is cool and so is the small one $179.Buy the black and white print Marimekko mini dress $119. Love the black textured Lanvin full skirt, almost padding on the hips as he did for winter 08 $199. Buy the chinos here, they are in a great chic cotton satine and you can channel next season’s Balenciaga ( though he did a jodhpur cut on his chinos) The very Lanvin inspired grey T shirt with a face on it is a great buy too. French Connection:
This is FiFi favourite for cheap but chic. Buy the grey wool gabardine city shorts $119; the red and white stripe hoodies (also in navy and white) $79 fabulous! Love the single breasted heavy black cotton, almost marc Jacobs, military style coat $199. It’s has a belt and patch pockets. There is a fab navy sheer blouse with black piping $119. Don’t worry about it being seethrough. Toss on a Country Road black seamless tank and you are ready to hit the office. It’s very marc Jacobs inspired as well. The Chloe style short trapeze mini dress in a black silk with rosettes around the collar is sweet and the short tweed peacoat is handy $229. Buy the print tunic top in red, taupe and cream swirls $89. Wear it now as a dress if you have the legs, if not then don’t cry; wear it as a top with pants. The chunky knit cardigans are great for weekend dressing $89.
Cue:
Great pieces here: Check out a very handy black tulip skirt with cute pockets on the side $145The dresses are great here. If you haven’t got your head around the dress then start now: it’s HUGE for next summer and makes getting dressed so easy. It’s the hot look thanks to Lanvin and Prada. Try the navy and black print chiffon dress $229 with ¾ sleeves and a loose shape and the simple black shifts. I even see a grey balenciaga style dress with padded hips..ooh la la. The accessories here are great: buy the black leather patent wide belts $119 and the groovy black patent of gold bags about $200.
Nine West:
Best buys here: the cute black patent pointy flats with a sling back $139; the tan sling backs with a buckleand a square toe are perfect for the office with black opaque hosiery $139. Need a classic heel with a tiny platform? Try the simple classic Enzo Angiolini black heels $149. You want the Lanvin inspired pointy toe heels boots here in black patent $329. Also don’t forget that Nine West have a lot of fabulous puffa jackets and parkas; Check out the black or navy long Parka with a belt $119 or the brown puffa vest about $100.
Just Jeans:
There are some good jackets here: check out the classic blazers in a brown leather or suede about $149. Then buy the groovy red or black bomber biker jacket $149 as reported. It’s the item du jour; the way you wear it is over a soft pretty dress or a short sexy one. You need to mix it the soft with the hard. Also buy the grey cotton parka with faux fur hood $89. And mix that up by wearing that with heels and a sexy skirt. The cuffed short shorts and the sweater dresses $44 here are cute too. There are cotton trenches here a bit short but that could be good if you are. $129 for you in red, black and stone. There are cute, stone cotton crop trench coats $89 and cute short shorts $39. The Seven jeans here are great with black stitching. Simple at $99.
Target:
I see a few bargains: Best pick is the black soft long wrap cardigan with a hood and belt $49. And head to Westfield Bondi Junction as reported last week for fabulous Stella McCartney silver/grey trenchcoats on sale for $129. They have huge sleeves in a fabulous silver colour now $129. There are also a few pairs of jeans and lots of dresses. Also check out the outrageously cheap burgundy patent Miu Miu style peep toe heels for $29. Esprit:
There are not a lot of fashion pieces here but a few chic little classic casual looks: go for the red and greystripe hoodies $69.95 and the chinos in khaki or stone $89.95. There are fab poloneck knit sweaters in gorgeous caramel $69.95 and a few good nylon military style Marc Jacobs single breasted jackets for about $99.

This is one of my favourite Australian designers after Scanlan & Theodore and Josh Goot: It can be a bit Prada at times but that can be a good thing. In fact a fabulous thing. He picks up the trend at the beginning of the trajectory rather than when the look is climaxing ( see Cue!). Yes, there are worst people to copy (Escada anyone?) Best buys here are as reported: the black (or Prince of Wales) drape strapless dress a la Prada. It comes with its own snazzy leather belt that you twist and wrap and tie around the waist $398. Also Love the cape, now sold out in the wool twill but how gorgeous it is in grey suede with a the frill neckline. Also buy the divine cashmere singlet tops $129, the print green or burgundy drape blouses $249. The poncho wool top $159 is a wardrobe must have for trans seasonal weather: it is almost a cape but in a soft fine knit and you can wear it over a white T or a poloneck knit if it ever gets cold. Or you can wear it over a sequin T and belt it in and let it slip sexily off the shoulder. It comes in a few colours in brown, camel, and black. Buy the red and brown moc croc thin belt to razz up your boring wardrobe. The sweater dress is cool with a smattering of clear sequins $249 and the black and burgundy print skirt is chic $249.If you need a black pencil skirt go here; it has an inverted split or pleat the back. Please avoid all skirts with a tacky long back splits. Not chic. $259. Love gold metal camisole , very prada with straps in grosgrain $229.
Country Road:
Best buys here are; the grey knit deep V sweater dress; the grey wool pants with a black grosgrain belt; the red and cream print cami top very Marni $89 and the fabulous herringbone tweed crop jackets with big full sleeves a la Burberry $249 . The chunky big knit cardigans in navy and cream are cool and so right for those weekends away. They have the big sleeve detail too; how chic. You need the navy silk trapeze dress with short sleeves. But don’t worry about wearing this when it’s cold layer it over a long sleeve polo neck sweater. True. That’s the look. It’s practical and chic. Whatever will fashion think of next? The accessories here are fantastic. The Chloe esque grey bags are fabulous $199; the short suede black boots $199 gorgeous; the belts in cream are a must buy and the wooden necklaces are just right. The big chunky scarves are so on the money. So very on trend and they look quality darling. Which is most important don’t you think?
Zimmerman;
You want a bit more fashion look? Then head here for a fab little denim full skirt with buttons down the front, so cute with patch pockets $285; the cute little light blue chiffon trapeze top and the fabulous print dresses with billow sleeves $595. Love the light weight knit trapeze tanks and T’s and the sexy mama dresses that are short and in the 80’s Alaia trend. Let me fill you in. there are 2 main trends in dresses. In one corner we have the loose and voluminous trapeze story and in the other the tight bright sexy numbers. How nice to have a choice. Pick the one that suits.

Best buys here for winter: The grey trapeze short jacket a la Balenciaga $399; and the classic black or grey trousers $199. Very Marni The fit like a dream. I should know. I bring all my personal shopping customers here who are all shapes and sizes. A must buy is the grey/ black, round neck, long sleeve stripe T $89; wear it to work under a jacket , wear it with jeans, wear it out at night with black jet beads. It is a great fit because it skims the muffin top but is still quite fitted. How thoughtful. Also buy the dark denim jeans, a great denim $129; the fabulous grey blouson jacket a la Hermes with rib trim and a grosgrain belt. Yes, I know. I am repeating myself but this is a great piece. It’s a bit voluminous so make sure you balance out the top with some skinny pants or a skirt. The patent belts here are in the best colours I have not seen anywhere. Try the gorgeous chocolate, camel, red and bronze $69. If you have the legs buy the dark herringbone check cuffed shorts $129. The simple over the bum long rib cardigan with a belt is a great buy $340. The menswear here is gorgeous and you can buy their sweaters and wear them big and slouchey.

Lots of delicious pieces here. Buy the very Marni esque grey full sleeved voluminous cocoon jacket $349. It is collarless and has short ¾ sleeves and comes to mid thigh. On the rack it looks like a sack of potatoes. But the good thing is when you put it on you can eat as many potatoes as you like. It hides it all but at the same time has a very flattering cut. Please explain. All I can say is Consuelo from Marni is a very clever designer. In my style sessions at WBJ I put this with the Country Road red print cami , a cream belt from CR with the saba grey pants. It is a great buy. Buy the cashmere deep V cashmere black hoodie sweater $240; a great price and it’s divine! Wear it over a white T or show off your cleavage. Iit’s all about sporty luxe this next season. Repeat after me; Sporty Luxe, Sporty Luxe. Now go and buy anything with a zip and a hood. You will love the black cardigan that has a very clever little singlet top sewn inside it. Which means you can have two for the price of one; let the cardigan fall off and tie it around your waist and you have a halter top on $ 280. Also there is a divine dress here that is sleeveless with a V neck and it’s a flattering cut. It comes in a pretty red chiffon print; a black brown leopard print and in black $380.

A few new seasons pieces arrived in here for spring. The little, black simple sleeveless dress is very Audrey Hepburn $888; the black silk chiffon cocktail dress is divine with a beaded slip under it $3400. The brown fur lined leather jacket is luxurious $3400 and so is pony skin black belted trench $4000. The black pleat front chiffon blouse is divine with a pleat front $719 and so is the black anorak puffa jacket. The cream shell top with beading under it is gorgeous $1700. Buy the classic black trousers $700 and the chic suit jacket to go with it about $1200.
