Wandering through the stores I am always finding many cool things to hanker after but then this week there was indescribable joy. I arrived at Scanlan and Theodore. I screamed with delight (as my Amex screamed in pain) It’s all divine. Oh joy of joys. It really makes the job of shopping so worthwhile. The only place to shop this week. ( oh apart from Cosmo shoes which made me hyperventilate.)
Economy:
Portmans: Best pieces are the black strapless cotton 50’s dress with a wide belt $99; a cute black patent ballet flats with cream trim $39; the black A line paneled high waisted skirt $89 (the fabric is average but what do you want for $89?); the grey and black print 50’s skirt with its own tie belt $69. Kookai: there is a huge sale here with more than 50% off. I see some cool gold bags, navy and lots of great tops and simple dresses.
Witchery: Lots new in. Checkout the good fashion items the cream lace short sleeve T $79; also in black ; the black and white print blouse $129; the shoe string empire sundress in white is good if you are off to St Tropez $189 and the black and white print 50’s dress with a belt in cotton $159. There is a groovy black satin sleeveless Victoriana high collar blouse with a gathered hem $99 and a satin silk cami $69. There are some fab wooden tan wood wedge heels $129 and a Prada style distressed leather bag $189 in brown. Buy the grey marle cotton singlet dress or it a nightie? Cute $49. Cue: Rush in here for some absolutely fabulous belts ( probably sold out!, they have executed a sensational Fendi copy in patent cream $169 plus a divine cream and black thin patent belt $69 and a fab silver sparkle belt for about $89. Cool. There is a fab floppy black hat which we all need and want for summer $79.Buy the wide neck stipe T $59; the V neck crop cream card $129 and the fab black V-neck cardigan with a navy trim and a belt $139. The wool melton peacoat is here again for $349. Buy the slouch mens style pants in grey $199; the satin trim tank in navy $89 and the 50’s style sundress in black $159.
Mimco: love the fabulous small structured clutch bags in black or red patent or even dark denim about $100; the snake skin thin belt $99; the choc brown over sized bag with resin chain details about $300 and the Lucite red or black cuffs $69. Max and Co: has the new season spring pieces arrived but it’s a bit too boho here. Dommage. Cosmo shoes: Wow this is shoe heaven. It seems every divine shoe known to mankind has made its way here. Belinda Double Bay: The news here is that Belinda is opening a stand alone Marni store in Double Bay and of course the sensational Corner Shop has opened in The Strand Arcade.
