The FiFi Report 398

I don’t know about you but am love, love, loving finally being able to wear all my winter clothes! Bring it on! Coats, gloves and knits and boots. ( as long as winter finishes by September and there are no dark days : thank you) .

I shall begin this week with a fabulous cheap but chic idea which a friend got me onto. Question: do you have long knee high boots that you don’t wear any more ? Answer: You do because wearing jeans tucked into long boots is so OVER. Bless. Answer number 2: Grab those boots toute suite and race down to your fav boot maker ( I have a fabulous Guy in Bondi Road) and then ask him  to cut off at the ankle. He may be shocked so let him get his breath and then explain. Measure where you want to cut them off. Voila ! For $40 I have a fabulous new pair of groovy ankle boots.  Rock them with your new skinny grey jeans and Witchery’s oversized Celine style coat.( Tip: said jacket now-on sale -hides everything even the new shopping from the net a porter sale whch I have smuggled into the Villa so that George wouldn’t see…).

See by Chloe heels on the net a porter sale ( on the us site which ships to Aust).
Get thee ASAP to the salehappening on Net a Porter US….You want shoes, bags and bags and shoes. Oh a few blazers….So I searched and drooled and found these gorgeous see by Chloe sandals. Chunky heel: check, One strap: check, Nude and black: check, easy to walk in; check. On sale for $147. Check Mate. Frenchconnection grey poloneck sweater:
It’s knits galore in the stores. And as I’ve been saying all season ( repetez after moi) knits are the new jacket. Which means you see all the cool girls wearing skinny red /grey jeans, ankle boots and a sloppy sweater. Very Isabel Marant non? Of course this is outrageously casual ( and not right for the office) but oh so comfortable and any age can wear it. yes, even you. Even better watch when you throw on the sweater and see it’s long enough to cover those muffin / choc croissants thighs. Tip: You need skinny pants under bulky jumper or you will look like one of those donuts you’ve been eating.  I do love this chic sweater in grey from French Connection. $169.95 Now $129.95

Bassike Red chinos:
It’s sale time everywhere. How thoughtful. Just when you it gets cold and you want a new wardrobe. My pick on the Basssike site? The “chino style relaxed pant with elasticised waistband and cuff.” Don’t be scared of said ‘elasticed waist’. You won’t look like Kath Or Kim. Love the colour, the flat front and the narrow leg. Talk about trans seasonal . Wear now with sweater and trench and that snazzy shiny Topshop parka. How cool. Then wear into summer with a Tee and chloe sandals. AUD$220 sale AUD$150

TOP SHOP Metallic Plastic Mac:
I was snooping around the TOPSHOP site and I came across this fabulous plastic mac. Adore ! So much more interesting than a boring old parka jacket. Why look daggy when you are dagging around on the weekends? That’s just too many dags in one look. I say throw this on with your jeans and chinos. They call it bronze but I say it’s silver metallic. Love the shiny groovy look contrasting with the relaxed shape. You could even peer into it for a quick- no one’s looking- re-application of lipgloss Cool : £45.00

Sportsgirl suede ankle boots:
So maybe you don’t dare have your long boots cut off to ankle. Then I suggest nicking into Sportsgirl and trying on these cute black suede “catriona: boot. Simple. chic. J Crew Collection Icon trench:
It’s not the FiFi Report if there isn’t a trench somewhere. So how could I go past this fabulous number? Love it with the white jeans and V neck knit. Love the length, that it’s double breasted and belted. Oh, love it that it’s reduced to $341. Do I need to tell you how to wear a trench? Mais non! Perhaps you are new to The FiFi Report and are stumped? SABATINI A-Line Leather Skirt:
I was snooping around David Jones having a lovely time checking out the sale and Bingo: I found this fabulous A-line leather Sabatini skirt. How did I miss it before? It’s fabulous. You need it. You do. I insist. It’s in pretty nice leather. It’s a  great cut: that A Line shape is perfect for all sorts of sizes, fat or skinny. ( I’m not afraid to say the F word as it applies to moi ). The A line also means it’s a little more casual and easy to wear than a strict leather pencil skirt. Also a flirty A-line means that you can wear this skirt with ankle boots , or even with flat sandals in summer. Yes, remember leather in summer is a huge trend. But you know that because I have hit you over head with the idea for seasons. Wear this skirt now with a a shorter chunky knit or a cropped military peacoat . Now on sale for $299.

Calvin Klein Collection Wool-blend coat:
You got to love the OUTNET. There are some amazing bargains. Especially because we In Australia are in another season. I love and adore the Calvin Klein collection black peacoat. The cut! The Fabric! The quality !  Original price $1,230 Now $430 . Divine. This is a go anywhere jacket. Perfect for work, chic with jeans. You will never regret this purchase.
If you want to buy something instore ( meaning you want to try it on before you buy) then check out the fabulous very Celine inspired Milana navy long coat I found in the coat department of Dvid Jones. It’s on sale for about $499 but it’s great wool melton and great quality. It’s similar style but a little straighter and longer. No photo. Sorry.

Hunter-boot.handbags;
I was thinking about buying Hunter rubber gum boots ( red !). I searched for the Hunter boots American site. And what do I find? A fabulous rubber tote bag. How chic. How perfect. It comes in all sorts of colours but I’m in love with the camel or mocha as they call it . It’s obviously waterproof (There is a shot where it’s immersed in water) and it has a big stitched H on the front. How very Hermes of them. I love it. I want one. It’s in the coolest shape and lined in white ( see more images on the site) and the price is made for me…an outrageous $129US. Witchery Grey jeans;
Grey jeans have been around forever. They are still hot. A friend of mine put me onto these great skinny jeans at Witchery. On the rack I was hovering over them thinking they looked too skinny and way too tight with a low rise = muffin high rise. I tried them on. I was in love. They feel amazing, like velvet and so comfortable. They are tight but it seems the cellulite doesn’t show. A little low but nothing a Gucci belt won’t hold up. The leg is so right for your new ankle boots. They sit right where they should. Also in a fabulous dark navy denim or black. Shut up. Get in there now. Buy 3. $129.95
