It’s FiFi’s top ten buys of the week! There is no black. Pick yourself up off the floor. Dust off the Miu Miu glitter heels. Keep calm. We have taupe, brown, grey and a dash of cobalt blue. You can do it. You can. Who doesn’t Just love these expensive, chic colours? Perfect for summer….
Saba
I see a sale. On dresses. How fabulous. You want a maxi dress for summer and I love this dress in cobalt blue (or in orange.) It’s in a lovely heavy viscose chiffon style fabric so it doesn’t cling. Darling it skims over the almond croissants on the hips. It hangs beautifully. It has the chicest halter neck and a self tie belt. But please free to add your own chic caramel leather belt a la Lanvin and you’ve got the look dude. It’s pretty long in length but you can always get it taken up to ankle length. I say to all of you girls who are booby-licious to try a strapless bra. Love with flat sandals for all those Christmas parties. Yes, that is the first time I have used that word. Get ready. CHRISTMAS. Now $174.
Witchery:
The skirt is back. Everyone said so after the spring summer shows in October ( for next summer) . Everyone. So it must be true. So this means it’s a trend. And the beginning of a trend. So this means you can get seasons- seasons!- of wear because right now the trend is taking off. This means it’s time to say au revoir to short tight dresses. Oh, you are so sad about that. NOT. Love this skirt. Wear it sitting on the waist. Tuck the tops in. Wear with wedges. Throw on sunglasses and a fabulous colour shoulder bag. Add a snazzy stripe belt. Be groovy. For just $89. P.S. This is a colour also called a neutral. ;Easy to wear tan loves black and bright colours equally.
SeedHeritage:
Shoes, shoes and shoes. We all need more shoes. NEED. Love these washed grey cotton sneakers. They are pull-on so they are no laces. I mean who has to time to lace up shoes?! Not when you are scrambling to get the beach/yacht with George Clooney. Yes, I know this shoe was around last summer so don’t yawn. You have probably thrashed them and they need to be replaced. Like your eyelashes. Love these sneakers back with a maxi dress or any summer dresses. A great non colour colour so they will look great with everything. $59
Sportsgirl:
You have the Cat eyes sunglasses Tick. So why not run like a manic in Manolos into Sportsgirl for a pair of big round sunglasses. In black. Rachel Zoe seems to live in her Chanel round sunglasses. Talkabout an instant wardrobe updater. Wear them to the beach and get them scratched and salty. Who cares for $39. Shut the front door.

Country Road:
I think you need a lighter coloured bag for summer. Ditch the black. Maybe you don’t want to go with bright, scary colours. I know how you feel. They’re scary. You need this lovely stone leather shoulder bag here from Country Road. It’s the perfect neutral like Switzerland. ( as I always!). It won’t pick a fight with anyone. It loves every colour and will even brighten up all your black. Plus I think the strap comes off or you can stuff it inside the bag so hey presto ! it becomes the all important over sized clutch. Love. Perfect for drinks and dinners where that big oversized black stud Balenciaga just ain’t working. $269
Katies:
The trilby is still the cool hat for summer. No, darling it doesn’t keep the sun off your face. It’s a fashion item. I repeat. FASHION. Which is why you are reading The FiFi Report. Because you love fashion. So nick into Katies and nab yourself one of these cute hats. I like it in white as well. I think you could get a bigger size : it might just keep a bit of the sun out of your eyes. Oh, and did I mention that the Annie Hall look is so coming back? Pull this number down and it will look great. Hint: Don’t do as I did last summer in Paris and get a hat one size too small. You’ll look like you’re from The Blues Brothers. Talk about embarrassment. TIP: If you’ve never heard of those two movies you are too young to be reading The FiFi Report. Bless. $29.
Trenery:
Love the idea of a summer silky jacket. This is a very relaxed bomber jacket and I think it works for the warmer weather. Ironic that a BOMBER jacket can be relaxed. ( can I mention a bomber Remembrance Day ? 11/11/11). Actually let’s re phrase that: it works for wild warmer weather. You can throw this jacket with skirts and jeans and chinos. Toss over a white tee if your muffin top can cope with it or just try it over a stripe Tee. Push up the sleeves and off you go. Lovely to wear out to a bar or restaurant for dinner with kitten heels and your red chinos. Add Country Road clutch. Add George Clooney. Pour champagne. Done.

Seafolly:
Who wants to pay a fortune for a beach dress? They get wrecked. So who cares when the cute-throw-it-on dresses from Target don’t last a summer. But please check out this cute little navy cotton voile number from Seafolly. It’s got a cool crochet front with lovely cut away sleeves. Plus it’s in that floaty A-line shape so you can eat those salty chips and Almond Magnum on the way home from a swim and no one will know. Just lick your lips and wipe the choc off your side of your face. $129.
David Lawrence
SO there are so many stripe tops around but I do love this one from D.L because it has the white broad stripe at the top and it’s in a sheer light, almost see through fabric. meaning you won’t die of heat exhaustion. It’s light and airy .Perfect for apres beach or yacht. Love with any red jeans or chinos. Or even a leather skirt or jeans. And it’s in a black and white stripe which is different from your navy and white pile of tees. Oh, go on you need another one. $79.
Wittner shoes:
Sometimes your tootsies want a rest. Sometimes you want to stop patting your boyfriend on the head. Sometimes you want to look him in the eye. Solution? Flat Silver metallic sandals. Every summer I keep pulling them out and every summer they are happy to see me. They will work with every colour you own. They love and adore everything you own. Including your toes. And your boyfriend. $89

Hi Fifi. Just wondering, are aviator style sunnies still okay or well and truly on the way out??
Great question! Aviators are still in and still tres groovy!
So glad to hear ‘the skirt’ is coming back. I work in a clothes shop and if I had a dollar for everyone who has asked me for a skirt in the last two weeks…
