Scanlan and Theodore
I love what they are doing at Scanlan and Theodore. They always on trend but don’t do too much of an exact copy as some other brands do. Paying for a copy at Zara is fine because it’s budget but when you are paying more you want more original style non?. My pick here is a black halter dress in a loose style with leather straps. Sorry, there is no photo so I have put in a shot which gives you an idea. ( But funnily enough this dress is very Lanvin / Hermes inspired !) Love the black dress: it’s sleeveless, in a slinky jersey with a halterneck /cutaway style and hangs with a slight A-line so it skims rather than clings to those muffin hips. About $650.

I will never tire of a stripe tee. Like a trench coat or jeans- or George Clooney for that matter- they never go out of style. Even if they do go off now and again with slutty wrestlers. Cough cough. Anyway this is a lovely tee.  Even if it’s a little loose it means it’s easy and you’ve got more space to eat more almond Magnums. It’s shorter at the front so it sits quite well. Plus the neckline comes in at the neck so it’s flattering. Love back with white pants but also with jeans. Do I have to tell you how to wear a stripe Tee? Hope not. Otherwise you need therapy. If there is one item you need for casual weekends whatever age , shape and lifestyle you have it’s  a denim/blue crop fitted blazer. This is called a “denim blazer in indigo”. It has a front button and a fabulous tailored shape. This means it will give you shape even if you ain’t got it baby. Bless. It has all important front pockets and chic ¾ sleeves but you will probably roll them up to your elbows. Love with black. True blue and black is chic. Love with cream, caramel, taupe and light blue. Love tossed over a flirty dress. Love. $350

Country Road
SO I have been going on about red jeans all year so sorry to bore you…but now I see Country Road have a cotton chino version with front pleats in washed out orangey/red.  Love. They are a great fit and they look tres cool rolled up and back with your fav heels. You can toss on with a black blazer and stripe tee and for weekends you can wear with converse or T bar sandals. For evenings out with George Clooney to a chic bar try them with a sheer black blouse ( see below) and sexy heels. Add a Miu Miu clutch and voila. Set to go. He would have to propose when you look that good. $99

Jeanswest.
As I was mentioning we all need a chic black sheer blouse to toss on with jeans and chinos for that “day to evening I just threw it together look.” Now don’t start turning up your nose saying I am not Marisa Berenson in the 70’s and I can’t wear anything see through/sheer. Shut up. Just buy one of those black stretchy tanks in Country Road to throw under your blouse and you are covered. By all means if you’ve got it and want to flaunt it then just wear a sexy black lace bra. But this is a great cheap but chic number that will work double duty by covering you up but not being too hot in the middle of a humid summer evening. Love with everything you own. Even your PJ’s. $39.

Nine West
SO you have your outrageous stomp-a-licious wedges, you have your gladiators (and sword) from last season;so what is the shoe that all the fashion editors are rocking? Celine style sandals with a kitten or block heel and simple ankle strap. Oh what a surprise! Total opposite. See here on the very chic Lauren Santo Domingo in Vogue. I know I have mentioned these sandals before so no, I am not drunk or have Alzheimer’s but merely pointing out the best shoe of the season at a great price. Love these little numbers in red but also in black. Black patent is still right.

French connection
We all need more dresses for summer. Sooo easy.  Toss it on and walk out the door. (Ok, put your undies on first. ) . Love this blue chiffon dress: It’s actually much nicer in person like a lot of people you meet. It’s in a lovely soft chiffon fabric and here’s the good news. It seems to sit knee length. So for those with muffin knees this is what you want. If you have skinny legs then just get it taken up stupid.. It has its own little belt but you can add your own black/camel version. It’s perfect with flats or with wedges/heels. You could even wear it with white lace up sneakers. And the neckline seems to be quite flattering too. So there. $169.

Sunglass Hut
I have going on about cat’s eyes sunglasses for about a year now. Yes, we have watched this look go from groovy to outrageously hot-a-licious. Those of you who obeyed The FiFi Report and went out and bought them have been very happy skipping around now for the second summer in a row. Yes, feeling smug and ever so groovy ahead of the game. Those of you who are missing out can now rush, I say RUSH, into Sunglass Hut for the fabulous Stella McCartney black cat’s eyes. So chic. they are a miracle worker and will razz up any old daggy outfit. Worth every cent. $275.

If you have to invest in one accessory then you want a designer bag. End of story. It’s a no brainer wardrobe updater. With the Australian dollar as it is you can’t go wrong. Trenery
If you want to joosh up your look this summer then just grab a scarf. Oh, please it’s not about keeping warm but it’s a fashion item. And actually when you think that Arab Sheiks wear scarves in the desert it must not be too hot on a summer’s day. Anyway you can wear these scarves draped down and loose : it’s a way to add colour and texture . Love this little number in red and taupe because you can add to a white/grey tee and chinos and off you go. Now that’s not too hard to do is it girls? $59.
