What with shopping and then jetting to Melbourne and Perth and back again ( I’ve been doing fashion workshops for Katies): It’s been a busy week: Think I’ve got jet lag.
But don’t despair: I have done a bit of snooping around the shops and here are my top ten cheap but chic casual weekend buys for the week …Oh and everything here works together as a capsule wardrobe. Easy dressing.
Witchery
You need a colour hit in your wardrobe this summer but this top is not too bright or garish. Oh no, you won’t be blinding anyone when you wear this chic little asymmetrical burnt orange top. I like the interesting one shoulder situation and the uneven hem. SO much more interesting than a boring ‘ol top. Love it back with black, white or navy. It’s a great top with jeans. But you knew that. $129.95
Tree of Life
Have I gone mad you ask? Am I drunk? Am I delirious? Whaaat??? A bright hippy Tee shirt in The FiFi Report? What’s going on Man? But hey why not? It’s just a ridiculous $16. Shut the front door. It’s a bargain. When anything is less than the price of French Vogue then you must have it. Toss it back with all your neutrals and basics. It will work under that black Dotti jacket and back with jeans. Peace Man. $16.
Dotti
You need, must have, can’t live without a summer jacket. This little number works because it’s in a floppy silky fabric. Like you. It’s a great flattering cut and is a little more longer line. It has cropped sleeves so you don’t have to push up the sleeves. Love over a stripe Tee (As I always do). Love with the fabulous Tree of Life tie dye tee. Love with a grey marle Tee and just your fav jeans. Easy dressing but it’s still gives you some shape plus it covers the floppy bits. On you. $89.
Country Road
You have red jeans now you can slip into the blue version. These jeans will work back with a black blazer and a grey marle Tee but maybe not with the blue wedges. It’s a little matchy match. So try them with the cute red flat sandals or with metallic silver flats. Love with black heels so don’t worry. If you can’t go colour blocking just stick to cobalt blue, navy, black and grey . easy. $99

Trenery
Love a T shirt dress . Love the zip details. They don’t unzip. They are not supposed to be functional; It’s fashion darling. Wear this dress over bathers. Wear this dress to the farmer’s market. Wear this dress shopping and then to lunch. Love it with wedges. Love it with flats. Love with sneakers. Yo dude. $99
Sportsgirl
How can you go past a pair of blue wedges? Comfortable and just the right dash of colour. This blue will work with everything as you can see. Wear with your jeans or chinos as well as dresses. Paint your tail nails blue to match. Caitlyn blue cork wedges $79
Zara
I have seen the fabulous open top tote every time I have been in Zara. It’s always looks right. Love it in red but it’s also in camel and black and I think blue. The shape is so right for the weekend. It’s like a cute basket. I like that it’s not too corporate work looking and it’s also not too snazzy designer looking. Know what I mean? Of course you do. $159 I think.

Katies
I am always slooking for a few casual skirts to just chuck on at the weekend with wedges. Love this cotton canvas skirt and it’s fabulous in khaki or this natural colour. Talk about a neutral. The length is great if you want muffin knee coverage. The pockets are cool and you can add a Gucci belt. Throw it back with any tee or a silky shirt. It’s just one of those skirts that you will thrash over summer and throw on without thinking. A no brainer skirt. $39.
Marcs
You can never have too many silky shirts. Sexy that’s what they are. Go for the lovely blush pink colour. Love it back with choc brown chinos. This blouse will love to be seen with jeans or even worn with your new silky floppy pants. You will be totally floppy and relaxed. Which is what summer weekends are about non? $149
Wittner shoes
So it’s time to have a bit of fun with your flat sandals : Don’t you love the red ( Ok it’s pink but I am pretending it’s not) and caramel mix? So chic. So right. They will adore being seen with everything else on this list. Love. $129.
