Witchery:
Ok so here are the 3 key pieces we are seeing for summer: the stripe skirt a la Prada, the blue wedges a la Celine and the skinny bright blue jeans. Then buy the cat’s eyes and voila..
- You know you want some kind of jeans in a colour for summer. Maybe you have the red. Now you can buy the cobalt blue. The good news is that something like this is a an instant wardrobe updater. So invest in a couple of bright pieces and then you can wear it back with black. Or taupe or choc brown. So keep calm. Breathe. You shall go to the ball and keep wearing black. If you can’t do these skinny jeans then try the blue silky peg legs from Country Road. $129
- So for another instant updater get into a stripe skirt. Don’t cry and say stripes make you look faaaaat. Au contraire. Stripes can be camouflaging. So get in there now and throw this on. The narrow shape is flattering and will look fab with wedges and a simple tank. I mean it’s a trend piece so wear it, thrash it and say goodbye. It’s a good price for $129.
- Now I am not saying you have to wear all the bright blue together so put down that paper bag, breathe and relax. I think the blue wedges are cool. They are on the Witchery website as” coming soon” so have a conniption if you don’t see them instore yet. You can them buy now in tan and I love them as well but the blue is a bit of fun. And any age can rock this look. I mean Lucinda Chambers , the Fashion Director at Vogue UK must be in her late forties and not a size 8 and she rocks the look. So you can too. Bless. Love these shoes with everything from white jeans to a leather skirt to a simple dress. $189. Oh and add your cat’s eyes sunglasses $69.

Always great shoes at great prices. I actually find they are comfortable but that might be my weirdo feet.
Here are my picks for the 3 shoes you should own this summer:
- It’s about colour in accessories this summer so add a pop of bright with red shoes and that’s it. You don’t have to go crazy for god’s sake. Just a dash will do. I love these red patent platform sandals because that lower heel is coming back. They are not too stomp-a-licious or heavy. Love the red back with your browns and neutrals. Yes and with navy and black. Mais oui. $149
- You need wedges. Need. Want. Must have. Shut up. So invest in choc brown wedge sandal. The choc brown seems to tone down the crazy espadrille heels ( vice versa) and will work with everything. The thing about most of these shoes is that they are lighter than you think so they are tres comfortable. Which can only mean one thing: it makes shopping all day so much easier . $199.
- So you have the wedges, the kitten heel and now you need a good flat. I love these cut out sandals because they are nearly gladiators but not too cankle hugging. See? They dip at the front giving the illusion that you have skinny ankles. Cool. Oh, but they are still statement making and give a strong fashion look. Love them in black but they are in a lovely soft camel or burnt red. Buy 3! One in each colour.$149.

Seedheritage
It’s always worth nicking in here for good basics and great every day pieces :
My picks are:
- There is something chic about the cream and silver Sequin Top; It’s in that loose relaxed shape (but for some reason this season here at Seed is very oversized and a bit too big and loose fitting: maybe the designer was pregnant!) but it works with the contrast of the glamorous beading/sequins. Toss back with your chinos, jeans or narrow skirt. Love it over a white tank and back with caramel /beige floppy pants. Great for the party season. $299.
- You know that red jeans are hot hot hot. Because I told you months ago and now they are turning up everywhere. I like the washed look of these in the rust colour if you don’t want to go crazy with bright colour. It works with navy and creams and brown as well. Also these are more chinos than jeans so very versatile .Love with heels but they can work with flats which is a good thing. Yes, a good thing. I think. $99.
- Last season we saw the silky equipment shirt come back big time and now it’s almost a classic. I like the soft pale blush colour : it’s a neutral and will go with everything. Like Switzerland. And everyone will look good in that simple collar. It s the kind of shirt that sits over your jeans if you don’t want to do that tucked in look. Especially after a big lunch of pasta. $139 ( that’s for the shirt not the lunch).

Jac &jack
You should head here for fabulous scarves, gorgeous Tees, relaxed dresses and easy knits. It’s simple, understated chic dressing. Yes, please.
My picks are:
- The fabulous hand woven cotton “Arizona” Shirt with the dramatic Balloon bell sleeves. They will cover any muffins arms! Love this shirt tucked into your high waist skirt or pants. Love the beige colour but it’s also in a very pretty blue. Perfect also worn hanging out over jeans because it has a scoop hemline. Beautiful fabric. $280
- In summer you need a chic little white sweater to toss on after a day of sailing don’t you think?! How divine is this V neck cotton sweater? Very. Wear it over nothing : although it is slightly sheer so maybe it’s best tossed over a tank top. You can’t be flashing anything. God no. I like the Batwing sleeves for that looser style and I love that the side seams are a little twisted. Like me. They call it an oversized, relaxed fit. I call it fabulous because white is so nice for summer back with colour or taupes. $280
- I am always looking for jackets to wear out to dinner. Meaning I like to keep wearing them at the table. Because god help me if I have to take it off and reveal what’s going on underneath. Eeeek. What’s great about this navy drape washed silk jacket is just that. Toss it on, push up the sleeves and it’s more like a cardigan. Love the elasticised rib cuffs and hem. Love that it sits a little higher so it shows off the narrowest part of your body. Hint: we’re talking about your waist. It’s almost like a sporty jacket. And sporty luxe is coming back next season so you can’t go wrong. Wear layered -as they have- over a navy tank or try over a stripe top, a white tank and back with everything you own from jeans to chinos to shorts. $299.

Bassike
I love the simple pieces here in great fabrics. By the way the T shirts are fab and are cut really well so it’s worth paying more.
My picks:
- Add some colour in your wardrobe with this gorgeous kind of tie dye print, silk jersey top in “blood orange dusty rose” The front is in ” 100% silk gauze” and the back is in “100% organic superfine jersey”. It’s a fab piece to throw back with black, navy or try it with simple beige. It also has a keyhole which ties at the back of the neck. $220. You could try it with an orange or red blazer: outrageous. Or layer over a white tank. Easy with jeans.
- How can you go past a nautical stripe tank dress like this? Perfect for weekends: It’s actually in 100% linen and I love the-oh-so-easy loose-fit which can cover a few lumps and bumps. And, yes; it’s knee-length. Thank you. Throw it on and skip out the door to the beach. It has cute side splits and a great cut around the arms. It’s not a wide scoop neck and in fact cuts into the shoulders so it will make you neck look longer. Promise. $195.
- Everyone needs the a few pairs of pleat front / peg leg pants. Everyone. It’s the new look and we love it. Plus they are seriously flattering over the muffin thighs. I like this pant (in the blue/denim/ linen mix fabric) because they are nice and slouchy with side pockets, and a high waist plus the leg then tapers into a narrow 80’s cut. Get used it ! Love with a classic tee and back with heels and a blazer. Not to be worn with flats if you can avoid it. Roll them up and show off those heels. Louboutin we hope ! I want what she’s having…Oh la la! $260.

Fifi, I love your weekly email and hang out on Fridays for it to arrive. A question about peg leg pants - for years and years the fashion rule was: if you are pear shaped (even if tall like me) run screaming from tapered leg pants as they will just make your hips look twice as wide. Is there a trick for this, or are we destined to continue patiently waiting for straight leg pants to come back in?
