It’s so exciting to see a new season and lots of new clothes in store. Woo Hoo. Time to get out of winter clothes. This week has been pretty busy what with styling shoots, personal shopping and the jet lag from my New Zealand trip ( ahem) so I have just picked out my top ten picks of the week. What’s fabulous is that all these pieces love each other. Really get on well. They will work together ( and not even argue. not like your children). Why? Because I have stuck with a blue, brown and red colour palette. Easy! Now you can get dressed with your eyes closed.
1. It’s all about the stand up tote this season and I love this red graphic print bag above left. I love the red print with the tan leather straps. The idea is to get colour and print in your accessories and keep the rest of your outfit simple. This is a fab day bag or one for the beach. Geo Print Tote $69.95 countryroad.com.au
2. You can’t go past a trench. You can’t. So please stop and look at this soft silky one from Country Road. It’s fabulous because it’s light and summery. Because you can toss it over everything. Wear it out at night, wear it with jeans, wear it to work. It’s fabulous because it’s double breasted so will cover the “situation” and the muffins. Because it’s in a chic neutral beige. Because it’s now on sale for $149. Shut up. Countryroad.com.au
3. The wide leg high waist flare jeans are just about the coolest jeans to rock right now. Go for a dark denim. And when you get them on you will love them. They suck it all in and make your legs look longer. You can then tuck in your shirt, pull on a thin designer Gucci belt and throw on your wedges. Love . Instant chic for every day. Riders By Lee Flare Festival Blue Jeans $119.95 Justjeans.com.au
4. You can’t have too many stripe tees. Impossible! * said in French accent. They are formidable, chic and tres elegant. Go for a bight blue and navy stripe. This is cool under the leather jacket or the trench or the black blazer. Wear black pants or red jeans. J’adore. $69.00 Marcs.com.au

5. The leather jacket is not going away any time soon. My point being? Hunt around now in the sales for pieces you know will take you right through to next year. Anything in a Tan choc brown leather is perfect with navy and black. It’s divine going into summer with cream and caramel. Love this chic simple shape of this tan jacket below middle. It’s not a tough biker jacket but soft and pretty and oh so tailored so you can show off your waist. (Or give you). I have mentioned this jacket before so I am not being boring repeating myself. Oh no. I mention it again because this jacket is on sale and you must have it.$249 Trenery.com.au
6. Wedges. We love wedges. You want to get a few wedges because, as I have already mentioned, it’s a once in a lifetime fashion opportunity when comfort and groove come together in one single shoe. OMG! And why not got for red? You want to have fun with accessories and it’s the way you can introduce colour in your wardrobe. You know without having a conniption…$99 Sportsgirl.com.au
7. A summer scarf is important. Darling it’s not about keeping warm. Oh no! This is a scarf that’s only function is making you look fashion. Oh and it might hide a few things as well. Love the grey and black painterly stripes with a frayed edge. This scarf will work with all those bright reds and oranges and back with brown. Chic. $59. Seedheritage.com

8. You’ve got the wedges but now you need another shoe to help you get through the day to evening look. Love the black , beige and tan straps below middle. Love the chunky heel and the little platform to ease the height. Love these heels with chinos, skinny jeans or under your new wide leg flares. Perfect with a dress too, $189.95 Witchery.com.au
9. The jacket is your friend. Repeat after me. Even in summer. But right now while it’s getting warm but not outrageously hot you will live in this jacket below left. It has the best tailoring which will slim you down and give you shape you didn’t know you had. I like the cute puff shoulders. Throw this little darling back with everything from jeans to chinos or black peg leg pants. Love over a stripe tee or over a floral dress if you have one…$229.95 Frenchconnection.com.au
10. You know red jeans are cool because I told you way back in Feb this year. It was obvious that this was a trend that was about to get big as big as an oversized Givenchy bag.. I say buy a couple of bright red or even cobalt blue jeans and thrash the look while you can. Oh and don’t spend a fortune. You can buy 2 pairs at Jays Jays for $60. Whaaat????! I know their sizing is small but breathe in , then lie down to do up the zip. BTW Any age can wear red jeans. ( Not necessarily from Jays Jays). If you are as old as moi then you can wear red jeans with heels and a chic tailored jacket. Oh and a white shirt or stripe tee. Or even a trench. 2 for $60 Jayjays.com.au

I literally just purchased that CR silk trench and returned home to find this post. Could NOT believe that they discounted it by 50% and thought it was a mistake. Fab purchase, and fab to see you approve!
