Love the new season: I am getting so sick and tired of my summer clothes…
Sportsgirl;
What’s hot this week? You know I will always go for classic pieces like jackets, shoes and cheap but chic bags here. By the way everything here you can buy online. Doesn’t that make life easy ?!
- Love the brown fur jacket ( as mentioned in the item du jour ): it’s hot In every sense of the word. This is perhaps not the most amazing faux fur but it’s fun and it’s a great colour to toss on over denim or black, yes even grey.
- Leather is the other trend that is about to go crazy in the shops: Got to love this leather dress $149: It might be slightly too short for those with legs like mine but you could wear with black jeans for better leg coverage.
- The green khaki wool military jacket is a fab buy for $149. It’s ageless and chic. I would wear it over a knit Tee with black peg leg pants or skinny cargoes. Looks way more expensive than it is.
- Another fabulous jacket is the navy knit military jacket with silver buttons $89. It’s a cardigan style jacket in a knit which makes it so easy to toss on with jeans. you can wear to work and not have to take it off at the desk. How nice but it doesn’t look like a boring cardigan. This would be fab with a stripe Tee and with all your fav skinny jeans/pencil skirt etc, etc. Bargain.

Witchery
Yes, all grey and black here . Oh, and a few highlights of Tan a la Stella McCartney. Are there any other colours you need to wear? My picks are:
- The fabulous very Celine inspired black long line wool melton coat. OK, so it’s not cold enough yet in Sydney to wear it but hey : you are off to Paris soon I am sure. You want this coat for the beautiful clean minimalist cut and low slung belt. it has a narrow shape which means you will look like you have lost weight. What else is there to say? $349
- You got to love the suede wedge ankle boot. It has a covered wedge with zip closure. The wedge is so much easier to run around in than those heels and these boots are tres versatile. Wear with a dress or jeans, Cankles be damned! $199.
- For fabulous flattering basic skirt look no further than the grey jersey ruched tube skirt. My god, it even has an elasticized waist band. Perfect after a big spaghetti lunch! Don’t be afraid of the ruching on the side it is surprisingly flattering. Try it on and you will see. It’s the perfect key piece to wear with a short aviator jacket or blazer. Love with ankle boots or just with platform pumps. $129.

- There are a few leather pieces here, but I must say, they are on the more expensive side…$699 is a lot for a leather dress but it is cool. In leather I also spy an out there puffed sleeve crop leather bolero jacket: I wouldn’t wear it ( my criteria for anything I write about) but it’s very fashion so I must report it.
- I have said it once and I will say it again: the long sleeve dress is a hot piece of the season. In fact it’s into its 3rd season if you need to know. It was around last winter but you had to search to find them. Now it’s everywhere. So handy to wear right now , throw it on and race out there door or for later under a trench. I like the grey long sleeve jersey drape dress here $149. The shoulder detail is kind of cool.
- Another must have piece in any FiFi Fashionista wardrobe would have to be the equipment style floppy shirt with patch pockets: I like the navy here and it will work with black or brown. How thoughtful. There is also a fab khaki green chiffon shirt which is cool as well. Tip: You must wear tucked in. $149

Jac and Jack:
Always gorgeous and simple pieces here and the prices are great for the quality.
My picks to buy right now online are:
- The divine mint green silk floppy shirt: it has a chic, collarless V neck with lovely patch pockets: Also in a divine cream and soft pastel blush pink. The piece of the season and it will work with everything. Great to wear right now in the trans-seasonal weather. love! $260
- If you want a casual and very relaxed jacket that is not a blazer then go for this chic little silk bomber: It has divine pleating in the back as you can see here jacandjack.com : it’s so right with something structured and narrow on the bottom. Yes, a pencil skirt or skinny jeans. It’s a perfect jacket to toss on going into Autumn don’t you think? Plus it’s the type of thing jacket that you can wear sitting at your desk or out for dinner: just push up the sleeves. $320. Excellent price.
- Buy the gorgeous trench coat. Of course, as you well know, I have a trench coat addiction; I find it impossible to walk past without trying one on. Love this trench in grey cotton but it is also worth buying in the very soft pink and black. I like the length: a little longer plus the fact that it is great for wearing right now. Over your PJ’s. $360. Check out the Tee shirts for $60

Sambag:
Great here for cute knits, bags and shoes, shoes and more shoes of course…
My picks to buy online right now are:
- I love a V neck sweater for winter: it’s a great look over a white Tee. check out the grey v neck knit here and toss it with your skinny cargoes or jeans or over a pencil skirt. Yes, I know all the usual suspects but what else do you wear on the bottom? Maybe a flirty skirt which could be cute too with the sweater belted in. $230.
- In the shoes you know all about the ballet flats here so I don’t have to remind you that it’s the only place to go for those. But the loafer is coming back so pull out all your old Gucci loafers. Or head here for the “Alexa” black or tan loafer. Probably named after Alexa Chung who wears cute flat loafers with pretty 50’s skirts and dresses. Otherwise just roll up your jeans and slip into these little easy shoes. $180
- In the boots my pick is the taupe suede lace up ankle boot with a stacked heel. You can wear with skinny cargoes or with a dress. $320. I am not so good with suede shoes because they seem to scuff so I would recommend the navy or black if you are a messy like me.
- In the bags I like the tan or black embossed two handle tote: it has no bling or hardware and what I like best is that it is big, slouchy, roomy and casual enough to toss in the car with all the other crap ( ike Children and shopping!). A great day bag. $420.

Country Road
What do you need to buy right now?
- Love the tan leather mini skirt. I wish I could wear it but it might be a bit short. But as I have been saying leather is a big trend and it looks new and exciting. You can wear this colour with grey , black, navy and cream. All the colours you should have in your wardrobe. You know my philosophy: expensive colours all work together on a budget meaning you can get dressed with your eyes closed. And always look faaaabulous! Cheap colours +cheap = cheap. Please ditch any hot pink unless it is Prada. I like this skirt with a longer peacoat. Or with a slouchy grey marle tee. $249. It’s cute here with the white shirt and the trench/cape.
- Check out the fabulous black wool cropped peacoat: it’s my favourite piece in my wardrobe after a trench. Why? Because it’s so versatile. I look at it and think it will look chic with jean and converse, with skinny cargoes and heels or tossed over a print dress undone. Love it over a stripe Tee with a leather skirt. This little beauty deserves a medal it works so hard $299
- You want the fabulous, just arrived instore, grey or khaki knit sleeveless dress with clever draping around the hips/waist plus it has an exposed back zip: tres chic, flattering and looks groovy too. Don’t be scared of the paneling bit on the front because it hides all sorts of things: Including almond magnums. Also try on grey marle sweat shirt long sleeve dress $129: It’s cool under a hip khaki jacket that you need to buy and thrash for season or two $249 ( seen here with or without the fur trim collar)
