Gap:
Not hugely ‘fashion; here but there are some good every day buys:
I like the cobalt blue dip dye equipment style silk shirt. It goes to dark royal blue to light $69. Also in a simple khaki colour. Cool.
Buy the chic navy cropped trench with black buttons with a back insert pleat; a winner. Perfect for everyday weekend/yummy mummy wear in Autumn. Wear with a narrow bottom because it has a slight swing shape. $149

Rubi Shoes:
Check out the black fabric shootie  lace up wedge for an outrageous $49.

Cotton On : If you missed out on the black ( longer line) boyfriend blazer with stripe lining last season you will be happy to know it’s back for $49. Push up the sleeves and toss over everything. It’s stretchy which is great ! It looks more expensive than it is but you can’t say it’s the most amazing quality fabric. Thrash it and say goodbye.

DKNY Jeans: Love the grey fluffy almost furry loopy shrug style cape knit thing. What a great description! Anyway it’s tres chic and will add texture and groovyness to your daggy old wardrobe. $229. Still after a black cotton shrunken blazer? You should be. Head here for the chic little number to throw back with jeans $199

Jeanswest:
Always great to sneak in here for cute fashion buys at great prices. I suggest buying the khaki military short sleeve jacket $69. it’s like a shirt mixed with a zipped jacket . it’s very cool and a great layering piece. You see the khaki military look is hanging in there but don’t waste your money on going crazy. Wear this with a pencil skirt over a grey tee. Oh and with all the usual suspects like jeans.

Trenery.
I had a sneak peek at a few winter new season pieces as they were hitting the floor. The good news? it looks like it’s getting a bit more fashion here. No photos yet on the website but the catalogue is out next week.

  • Love the grey wool knit cape: divine. Simple, chic and you can wear all winter and cover up all lumps and bumps and all those almond magnums from summer still there on the muffin top. $139. Talk about cheap but chic. Wear with jeans, with a pencil skirt, with skinny cargoes. The cape is going to be a huge trend. Of course I prattled on about it last year knowing it would reach it’s groove richter scale peak this winter.
  • You want the fabulous dark grey stretch jersey pencil skirt with cargo pockets very subtly on the side. It’s called the Ponti skirt and it has understated gunmetal buttons. Chic de la chic, you could probably wear now with an equipment shirt and sexy mama heels.$99.

Scanlan & Theodore: All divine. All fabulous. Great pieces to wear now. Great pieces for when it gets cold later. Just get in there. Sorry no photos on their site, damn.

  • My picks are the fabulous softest ever, charcoal short leather jacket with a tie front and very Rick Owens style knit under the arms. Gorgeous. $600.
  • Adore the perfectly simple, side drape, grey jersey sleeveless dress with a tiny sliver of black chiffon trim along the arms and the neckline: gorgeous. That drape has got to be very flattering. Wear with boots or heels or bare legs now. It looks like it’s knee length, thank you. And the neckline is not scoop. Yes, please. $500
  • Buy now and wear now the silk blue and white digital print sleeveless dress that is loose with a drawstring neckline. Love it. $600. You want the long sleeve dresses, the print maxi dress, the black silk tank with shoulder pads to put under everything and and much much more…

Little Joe: if you are still wanting a jumpsuit then head here for the black silk jumpsuit with shoes string straps and an elastic waist. Always wear with heels unless you are wanting to jump out of plane. Perfect for the buy now, wear now situation. $469

DKNY Jeans
You want the grey furry zip front cape style knit in a big loose shag knit : it’s stunning and a perfect mix of casual and fashion $429 . Perfect for weekends away in the country or with leather pants in the city.
Love the black leather biker jacket in a vintage leather: the good news is that the sleeves seem to zip off so you get 2 jackets for one, about $800 I think.

DKNY In Myer:

  • DKNY has great prices and great quality. My picks are the fabulous very tailored and sharp black wool gab military style jacket that should be worn done up. It has patch pockets and is single breasted. A must buy as it is the most versatile jacket for the season. $450
  • Buy the black wool melton cocoon coat: it’s that big roomy look but still tailored because it’s double breasted : just $680! If you live in Melbourne, Wellington or Tassie you need this coat. Fabulous.
  • BTW I also adore the ever so simple Sonia By Sonia Rykiel grey round neck fine knit Tee. It has short sleeves with a few gunmetal buttons along the shoulder with different contrasting grey trim. It’s gorgeous, chic and divine quality. $299.

Country Road:
New pieces coming in all the time. My picks in accessories are

  • The cute oversized envelope clutch , is that Alexander Wang inspired? Probably. It has zips on the each side. The over sized clutch is the bag for winter. $159
  • The brown vintage style lace up oxfords. Yes, the man style oxford brogue is a big trend for winter. Take your inspiration from Alexa Chung and wear with pretty dresses and skirts. Please not with a trouser suit. Think contrast and mix it up darling. $129
  • What to wear now? I suggest the Jacinta plaited heel with a small stacked wooden heel. Perfect with jeans, skirts and dress. yes, that means everything in your wardrobe. $199
  • Invest in the looped knit scarf to add instant vava voom to your winter wardrobe. It’s a wardrobe transformer for $99. If it’s not cold enough yet then I suggest you open the freezer and stand in front of it for a while. Ah yes, the perfect way to start wearing winter clothes.

Balmain in Myer:
It looks very sad and lonely here in the Sydney store hanging on an unnamed rack. One of the coolest brands in the world and it’s just plonked. I am sure it would be merchandised beautifully in the new Myer Melbourne. The prices are very expensive when you can buy it online for less. Worth having a look non?

  • Check out the bold black and white stripe skinny cotton jeans, I am sure we saw Emmanuelle Alt in them rocking around in Paris .$2300
  • Love the black cargoes with studs on the waist and zip on the side $2800
  • Die over the black tuxedo jacket with a leather lapel. $4800. true.

Boss by Hugo Boss: Love the understated chic and the fabulous quality here..

  • You want the fabulous brown/taupe/caramel/grey wide stripe knit with a drape front in a loose shape. Stripes are a huge trend and this is so chic. it’s in a light fine knit so it’s a perfect trans seasonal piece. $429.
  • Buy the black silk ruffle neck blouse: it seems the ruffle is detachable. It’s a dramatic shirt and just perfect worn with jeans and cargoes. $449.
