Trenery:
It’s all very khaki and military inspired here plus I see a sea of navy and white and lots of fab slub stripe tees: Right on trend!
My picks are :
- The camel military jacket with tortoiseshell buttons and ¾ sleeves. It has a more fitted tailored shape but you can wear it done up, I would say, with nothing under it or wear undone over a tank back with a straight skirt. $149 Yes, get ready for a season of military inspired looks. But don’t go crazy : just add a jacket or a chic floppy army green shirt. It works with black , choc brown, camel or navy . Love that kind of versatility non?
- Adore tobacco cotton trench. Of course I am addicted to trench coats so I was drawn to this like Naomi to black diamonds. This is a very fashion trench with zips on the front and ¾ tie up sleeves. Plus belted of course. Terribly chic and quite the best thing to toss over any old daggy things when you are rushing to pick up the kids/georgeclooney/more booze.Oh and It’s $249!
- You want the chic military skirt: it has a self belt and is a jean style cut with pockets etc. I think it is an A-line style shape is a great flattering cut plus its not too mini. Wear this with an equipment style shirt and heels a la Carine Roitfled or with a simple grey Tee /top. It will work with a simple tank and flats too. I can’t believe the prices: it’s $79
- Love the pale almost beige/ cream military, crinkle cotton shirt. It has roll up sleeves and a simple round neck with 2 pockets on the front : great with black peg leg/harem pants/skinny cargoes. Or worn undone over a rib tank a la Balmain. $99.
- Check out the rather fabulous black or tan leather flat cross over T bar sandals: they are so chic and understated and I love that there is no hardware or anything glitzy about them. Comfortable shoes? what will they think of next?

CK Jeans:
I checked out the new store at WBJ: fabulous prices for the quality..
My picks are:
- Love the navy cotton boyfriend fitted jacket with one button: Please don’t panic: yes, it has the must-have stripe lining so you can roll up your sleeves and do that snazzy styling trick. This is a winner and you will live in it. Wear with jeans, of course, but don’t be afraid to wear navy and black together. Or navy back with your khaki green skinny cargoes. Wear this over a dress. But you know that $260.
- Buy the fabulous grey leather bomber jacket : it has brass hidden zips and is quite beautiful leather. It’s not too tough looking either. Love grey don’t you? ( and no, that price is not economy prices but everything else in there is so please don’t cry) $990.
- You want the military khaki jacket in a faded crinkle cotton: it has requisite 4 patch pockets on the front and the epaulettes and is quite fab: let’s face it the military look is here for summer but you can still wear next winter. Love it over just plain black harem pants or tossed over shorts and a white Tee. You could do it with leather pants a la Balmain if you are feeling young and groovy. Love this with a pencil skirt . it’s actually quite tailored so it would be a little more chic $260.
- Adore the cotton muslin multi pleat shirt: it has pleating on the top of the sleeves and then the sleeves are quite full: it has a round neckline, buttons down the front and it has tiny little pleating all over the very front and it’s quite dramatic in a way: a must buy $160
- Check out the white pleated tunic shirt : it also has pleating but it’s more a tunic style with a V neck and it has tiers and falls into a A line shape and seems long enough to cover the thighs : lovely for wearing in summer over a bikini. $180. Chic
Sportsgirl:
You can always find some chic little numbers here whatever your age…
My picks are :
- The khaki cotton dress: it has a mesh top under it and then ( as you can see) floats out over the waist. You better get used to all these military looks. This will work with flats in summer which is nice to know and you could toss a blazer over the top too. $79
- Buy the cotton over sized military khaki shirt. The idea is to wear it loose and undone over a tank a la Balmain worn with a ridiculously short leather skirt. Ha. My advice is to adapt that look so that you wear it with a leather skirt or just a simple black pencil knee length skirt. $79
- Check out the fabulous caramel suede lace up wedges which will work with everything! That colour can only make your legs look longer because it won’t cut you off , it continues the same colour as your legs. Or something like that. Love these heels back with skirts, dresses or pants. $149
- If you are wanting a cheap but chic bag for summer: go for a lighter colour like this two handle tote with a long strap: sure it’s pleather but what do you want for $59?!
- You want the skinny cargoes in khaki : they are called ” Laura’s casual cargoes”: Good on you Laura! Do I have to tell you again how to wear these? Surely not. Tip; With heels and a black boyfriend blazer and grey Tee.
- And you can’t go past the gold rim aviators with brown lenses for $39.

Country Road:
I see a lot of new pieces instore with a lot of navy and black and military green;Ay Ay captain
My picks are:
- The navy/black/cream print tie dye Ikat /tribal print dress: it’s sleeveless with knot straps and fits to the waist with a bell skirt $199. It’s very summery but would look fabulous with a blazer and yes, you guessed it, opaque tights. Isn’t that what we love about dressing this season? you can go from winter to summer in a snap.
- Check out the grey short sleeve grey marrle sweat shirt: you should know this is very Dries van Noten. It’s in a slub light weight cotton which makes it easy to layer over a shirt. You see this is not a top to wear to the gym: Dries puts is over a shirt with a brocade floral skirt. Fabulous. I would wear it with a black pencil skirt over a green military shirt. With heels. Always heels.
- Buy the grey military bomber jacket with epaulettes and rib knit trim and pockets on the front. It’s in a light weight cotton so perfect for now. I am obsessed with jackets because they can make a look. You can wear this with all your basics from jeans to pencil skirts to harem pants. It’s a cool weekend look too. $199
- Love the green slub knit round neck pocket sweater: it’s a loose kind of top with ¾ elastic edge sleeves and hem and brass zips on 2 front pockets; tres cool: the neckline is wide so you can layer it over a tank and wear it off one shoulder: you know very flash dance. $129
- Love all the scarves here and the way they have styled them tucked into a brown belt. Cool

Arthur Galan;
The new season is starting to arrive instore which is fabulous news: I see a lot of black and white and tribal print..
My picks are:
- The black leather sleeveless sheath dress. I know it’s very editorial and I am not sure who can carry it off but hey, it’s pretty fabulous. Obviously very Celine inspired as everyone is this season. As I have mentioned don’t be scared of leather in summer. Well, actually wear it in spring in Sydney and summer if you live in Wellington. I think it should be worn layered over a white Tee and back with flats. It has a belt and looks as if it is slightly flared. $698 .
- If you can’t do the leather dress then try the leather top version: it’s pretty fabulous in a tank style; Love back with skinny cargoes and heels. You could also wear this with a chic black pencil or flirty skirt. Maybe not with denim or lace. Too tricky non? $349.
- Love the navy chiffon sleeveless, drape top with an attached huge scarf that wraps around the neck. Which is where scarves normally go! This is gorgeous and has a few interesting seam detailing. I think it comes in a taupe as well. This is a very versatile top and will work with jeans, chinos and also great for work $229.
- Buy the silky black poncho/cape/top with black leather collar and leather epaulettes. Yes, It is virtually a poncho with big batwing sleeves in satin silk: very dramatic with the leather touches. Wear with skinny black pants and lots of attitude. Definitely not a work top!$398
- Check out the interesting painterly stripe/tribal black and white V neck dress: it has a belt and drapes into a skirt and also has studs along the shoulders. Prints can be tricky and aging ( sorry to swear at you) so the more dramatic and graphic the print , the more chic you will look. $498
- There are a lot of drape tops but I would like you to know that a more fitted close to the body silhouette is happening and so you must wean yourself off all these loose tunic tops. Think 70’s tighter tops and neat shapes.Think no ore almond crossants.
Max and Co:
Always great pieces here although for summer it’s starting to look very Boho ..
My picks are :
- The tiny pink and red print dress: it’s liberty print - literally- and so is quite chic little dress. Very summer holiday style cotton shirt dress. But watch out because these prints can look a little daggy so you need to wear with gladiator heels or something edgy to add an edge. $255. Also in a shirt which is cute.
- You want the khaki/taupe cotton parka: it’s cool, almost Chloe inspired sporty chic: it has hidden buttons and a hood which looks like its detachable. This is a cute number that can be quite fashion if you wear it with heels and skinny jeans. It might work tossed over a pretty dress but with tan gladiators. You could even use it keep you warm and keep you out of the rain. outrageous $445.
- Love the double handle tote in dark blue denim : it has black leather straps and satchel like brass buckle detailing which you know is the big look of the season: I think it has a long strap too which is cool $265. Great buy!
- There is a dark denim button through A-line skirt which is a handy little number : It has a self belt too. You can wear with flats or heel and it will look chic with a crop trench or a simple grey marle Tee. Wear now with a leather jacket .$225
- Adore the mushroom brown crinkled leather bomber jacket: It’s quite different and the leather almost looks pleated: snazzy,. Will work with all sorts of colours in your wardrobe: black , brown , navy : even red for god’s sake. $996.
- Buy the dark denim tunic dress with cap sleeves: It has a wide round neckline and cute little slit pockets. Not sure if it is too loose and you will look too pregnant : Sometimes these dresses can hang so they are quite flattering. It will be comfortable anyway. $225
