it’s getting better in here: great for cute cheap but chic pieces. Things you don’t want to spend money on but you always need to fill the fashion gaps in your wardrobe:
My picks are:
- Love the white with navy stripe Tee: it has funky exposed zip detail on the shoulders to give a little sporty edge $39 : You know the stripe top is here to stay and this is the perfect trans seasonal piece. Stripes are great if you don’t do prints or florals.
- Love the fitted grey jersey sheath dress: Oh la la: It’s very Roland Mouret and really narrow. Vicky Beckham the Fem Bot: eat your heart out ! It has cute little cap sleeves and 2 slits at the front: Looks expensive but will show off every little bit of your almond croissants you had for breakfast. You can Spanx it I suppose so. This is great for summer into winter. Great office number too. $99
- Buy the grey marle Tee with silver sequin scattered on the cap sleeves: a great way to do sequins without going the whole Las Vegas Bling a thon. You can’t toss on a jacket with this : it will cover up the best detail. It’s a cool tee to wear with jeans or with I dream of Genie harem pants $49
- Love the satin disc black tank which I have mentioned before. It has satin discs all over it and it’s again a handy little number for going out with jeans or peg leg pants and heels. $59
- The jewellery is great and I see a Prada inspired necklace but I am over it by now? About $29.
- Must mention the ticking stripe blazer it’s a Gucci inspired must buy $129
- Love the white cotton shirt a la Lanvin with big puff shoulders and skinny arms, $69..It’s very fitted. The white shirt is hot this season Ironing is not. Hope it’s drip dry.
Jeans West:
Always worth heading here for some great jeans and weekend basics:
- Love the grey leather bomber jacket with a silver zip around the collar and a few zips happening on the front: it’s not bad at all for $99:
- Check out the black shoulder pad jacket in a gabardine style fabric. It has very sharp shoulder pads: it’s the look and I am here to tell you where to get it so head here. Wear with loose pants and a white tank. Heels and more heels. $199.
- There is also grey cotton cargo pants that have a rib trim around the waist and a drawstring: These are cropped :Look best with the serious heels $49. Love it. Remember you need to wear these dress up track pants with a jacket and heels: Not with ugg boots and a beer. These are hot because I told you last year in FiFi Report # http://www.fifi.com.au/fashion/itemdu-jour/11861/track-pants. They are everywhere this season but for a quick budget fix these are great.
- Check out the oatmeal long knit oversized boyfriend cardigan: looks expensive but for you is just $39. Not a typo. Obviously not cashmere either. Love this over a white tee and with shorts and outrageous heels.

Now that platforms are everywhere it’s time to wear a small kitten heel. Sorry. Can I really do that to my stumpy midget legs?? They will never forgive me. Mmmm. Must keep shopping a little longer for stomp a licious leg lengthening stilts.
- Check out the black patent pumps classic with a hidden platform $149 with a narrow heel: I am nearly sick of black patent but somehow it keeps going. These are almost a classic now.
- Love the grey heels with a diagonal strap that goes across from the toe to the strap. They have a peep toe and a skinny heel. The heels is a wooden stack $189. You must know that grey heels are the only colour to wear this season. And yes, grey is a colour. So shut up.
- Love the round toe wedges in tan or black with a wooden stacked heel. The wedge is coming back so these are a great buy. Get them in tan to go into next winter. $159.
- You want the pale grey (or flesh pink) heels classic pumps with a round toe with a difference: at the back on the ankle they seem to sit up a little : Think a shoulder pad on your shoes $189 . Remember next season it’s all about pastels and pale colours so you may as well add a little lightness to the black and brown now.
Business Class
Trenery:
It’s for the over forties but who said I can’t shop there?!!: Some of the sizing is too big so go for one size down….
- Love the pleated cotton shirtdress with a self belt. I have mentioned it before but it’s a good buy. I will mention it again. Love the multi pleats and buttons down the front This is easy dressing. Swap the fabric belt for a brown leather one and add flats or heels. $149. In navy or white.
- Buy the dark denim casual front pleat pants with a drawstring. No obvious stitching and in that light floppy denim. They have a cuff. Think these needs heels or you will look a little daggy. Unless you are a dag and then nothing’s changed.
- You should buy the grey marle sequins Tee: The sequins are just on the front: It has a loose shape and looks great under a jacket. Again subtle sequin so you don’t look like Cher. $89
- Check out the cute leather clutch: it’s a simple envelope shape : no zips, no hardware, no glitzy details: Love the simplicity and the understatement In grey or black : I think I need it for dinners out where the Prada is just too much. I made that up. That would never happen.
- They have a snazzy leather bag here: very inspired by the YSL bag with one handle. This is great because it has a zip at the top so those naughty pick pockets don’t steal your wallet. It’s that slouchy shape. $249
- Buy the grey cotton, military bomber with a round neckline; it’s in a casual cotton and a little peacoat-ish. Handy! Handy! Handy!. $199. Love with a pencil skirt or with your skinny leather jeans. You wish.
- OK, must mention the double layer cardigan; it’s a trick where they have sewn only the V neck detail of a caramel cardigan into the black cardigan. Looks like it’s 2 cardigans; Great because it’s give you the look without bulking you up. You can do that over an iced donut on the weekend. $149.

- Check out the black or grey Rick Owens leather jacket with sliver buttons $399: This wrap leather jacket is everywhere this season so I am sure it will be the item du jour next week.

- If you didn’t buy a boyfriend blazer when instructed at the first sighting about 2 years ago then bless: you can go here and invest in the black single breasted jacket with stripe lining $239. Wear with everything in your wardrobe. Jeans, over dresses, with shorts or even your nightie.
- Love the very Chanel stripe Fisherman’s Tee with a white top and then stripes. $59: great price ( and also in red)

My picks are:
- The black leather bolero jacket with crazy fringing along the sleeves: In fact it’s not too over the top although it could be a little Country and Western. Don’t wear with riding boots unless you want to lassoo somebody . $499…but is that expensive for a little jacket?
- Check out the black cotton jersey drape top with a fabric drawstring neckline $89. It’s very summery which is great because guess what it’s hot out there today. I have reported on this before and I think it’s a great buy to toss on every day
- You want the red and white or blue and white (hey even black and white) stripe Tee : this is finally a Tee with the right kind of round crew neckline: Not a scoop. You want this Tee: it will sit properly at the neckline $189. Short or long sleeved. A must buy.
- I see a single breasted belted black trench that is very Burberry: it has the epaulettes and is a great little day coat $399but of course you can buy the real thing at net a porter for about £695 .. . http://www.net-a-porter.com/product/61529
- I like the washed navy faded vintage cotton peacoat $259 with a high collar that can sit up or down… It’s short and casual. A great yummy Mummy-what-will-I-wear-to-the-park-kind of jacket
- I see a lovely purple chiffon ruffle blouse : So lovely; It’s sleeveless and crosses over at the front $269. Ruffles are a big trend and will be around next season so this is a good buy
- If you are pregnant or addicted to the loose poets’ top there are million here. Millions .
