The FiFi Report 405

Alber Elbaz cast real, (!) everyday women and men, ranging in age from 18 to 82, in his fall Lanvin 2012 campaign. He chats about the campaign…see below.

“That is what Lanvin is all about and represents - we don’t only do clothes for 20-year-old girls.”

” I love to see mature women wearing Lanvin as well. I love wrinkles, I love grey hair.”

” I wanted to see people from different age groups, body shapes and personalities wearing Lanvin.”

“I was interested to bring these clothes back to the street somehow, and seeing how they look on different ages, different sizes. It felt like a crazy family, and I like that.”

“There was a street casting in New York and the team who did the casting did a fantastic job. They sent me all the photos of the anonymous people who had been pre-cast and the day before the shoot, I met them all. It was an unforgettable experience to meet with these beautiful people.”

“It’s all about individuals with individuality’

: “[The crew] said, ‘Oh, you kept your figure, didn’t you!’ I’ve always been slim … Alber Elbaz kept kissing me and saying, ‘I love you, I love you, I love you!’ He came to say goodbye to me and said, ‘Imagine if I never met you.’ Jacquie “Tajah” Murdock, 82 years old and a former dancer in the shoot.
