- Miuccia Prada, who has put celebrities at the center of Miu Miu advertising, has made a casting coup for next spring’s campaign: Kirsten Dunst. The actress finished the shoot last week in Los Angeles with photographers Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott. WWD.
- Stella McCartney scooped the designer of the year award at the annual British Fashion Awards in London. Other winners cluded Anya Hindmarch for designer brand; Christopher Bailey of Burberry for men’s wear designer;and Dame Vivienne Westwood for outstanding achievement in fashion design. WWD.
- Tom Ford is now planning to make his Hollywood debut a priority. According to rumours on the LA fashion circuit, WWD reports, the designer is preparing to direct the big screen adaptation of A Single Man - Christopher Isherwood’s 1964 novel, which depicts a day in the life of a gay man in Los Angeles.
- Philip Treacy, one of the fashion industry’s favourite milliners, is once again turning his hand to interior design. Two years ago Treacy was enlisted by Monogram Hotel Group to produce eccentric interiors for the g hotel in Galway (pictured) and they were so pleased with the results that he has now been given free reign to turn Bow Street Magistrates’ Court in Covent Garden into a luxury 90-room hotel.reports WWD
- Megaproducer and performer Pharrell Williams and his business partner, Japanese fashion designer Nigo have opened 2,000-square-foot store in New York.
