CORINNE DAY the fashion photographer credited with launching Kate Moss’ career, has put on an exhibition of their earliest collaborations. Featuring the 1990 shoot in which a 15-year-old Kate posed naked for The Face magazine and another for Vogue which was later blamed for the launch of “heroin chic”, the exhibition runs at the Gimpel Fils Gallery on Davies Street, W1, until April 1. Anna Wintour isn’t ringside at the Paris shows, but her presence is still being felt — at least by the Canal Plus production team. It’s preparing a short feature examining the mystique of the Vogue editor in chief. The program is scheduled to air on French television in April. Canal Plus interviewed Wintour on Avenue Montaigne on Sunday, when the editor stopped briefly into town after Milan to preview a handful of collections, and the station is asking designers to contribute their two cents on what keeps the Vogue editor at fashion’s fore.
Kirsten Dunst made an unexpected appearance at one of Paris’ fashion parties Wednesday night — on film, that is. The actress was the star of a short-and-sweet black-and-white movie, directed by Ellen Von Unwerth and showcasing designer Erin Fetherston’s ethereal fall collection.
Odile Gilbert will be awarded a Chevalier dans l’Ordre des Arts et des Lettres (Knight of the Arts), a first for a hairstylist, in July. “I’m scared,” said Gilbert, who did the hairstyles for Kirsten Dunst in the upcoming film “Marie-Antoinete.”
Pharrell Williams said he was in town to check the first samples from his jewelry line for Vuitton, set to debut as early as the end of the year. “I’m happy to just take in the show and not worry about the music this year,” said Williams, who showed off his bling to Lee Radziwill. reports WWD
