Places to eat!

  • You must check out very chic Cafe Marly: it’s fabulous having an aperitif sitting over looking the Louvre and the Pyramid… 93 rue de Rivoli, Cour Napoléon du Louvre, 1st , phone 33 1 49 26 06 60
  • We adored the food, the atmosphere and style at small but very cool le Comptoir , Paris …divine! Order the chunky Terrine de la Maison. 9 Carrefour de l’Odéon 6th Arr. phone 33 1 43-29-12-05
  • You must have a drink at La Palette: the chicest, little bar on the left bank. There is a giant mosaic cranky waiters, pain Poilâne and people-watching  …43 Rue de Seine; phone 33-1- 43-26-68-15 Travelandleisure.
  • Dinner is a must at the huge, dramatic and bustling la Coupole and so is a drink at Les Deux Magots. Touristy but part of being in Paris non?
  • Love any of the cafes and tearooms in the Palais Royale. My favourite place in Paris. Sit in the garden in the sun, in the heart of Paris and it’s so quiet.
  • Lunch at the Musee D’Orsay is perfect Musee-orsay.fr
  • Drool over the macroons at Laduree are fabulous if you can get in! Always so crowded..6 rue Royale, 75008 Paris, phone 33 1 42 60 21 79
  • And afternoon tea at Mariages Freres is perfect after a day of shopping and little packets of tea make the best presents to bring home.
  • Or head to Galerie Vivienne after you have been to Palais Royalon the right bank for tea at Le Priorite Tea .
  • A stroll around Place des Vosges in the Marais is fabulous and you can stop for dinner or a drink at Ma-bourgogne.

Places to shop!

  • For the best and most beautiful department stores you must spend all day at Le Bon Marche: the only place to go  (24 Rue de Sèvres, Seventh Arr.; 33-1/44-39-82-80). You can stop for a Pause Gourmande and lunch at the terrace cafe ( it’s Italian food!)
  • Then spend hours drooling in the biggest luxurious food store ever at Lagrandeepicerie.fr( part of Le Bon Marche). Ohh la la !
  • Printemps has been renovated ..64 Boulevard Haussmann, 75009 phone 33 1 42 82 57 87…everyone in fashion says this is much better than Galeries Lafayette (which is tourist torture. (but the shoe department there is amazing)
  • You must know about COLETTE, the coolest lifestyle store in Paris. Go in the morning when it’s quiet. ..213 rue St-Honoré, 75001 Paris ( 1 55 35 33 90 00) drool over the Celine bags just lined up in a row.
  • Love the new Ralph Lauren store and café called Ralph’s in St Germain Ralphlauren.com
  • You should check out the new Isabelle Marant store with husband Jerome Dreyfus next door in Rue Jacob in the 6th .
  • Love the Rue Faubourg St Honore and Rue Royale for all the best stores in the world…
  • Everyone needs to stroll around the most beautiful Palais Royal and check out all the divine stores such as Rick Owens, Stella McCartney and Marc Jacobs. And of course the best vintage store in the world, DIDIER LUDOT is here…20-24 galerie de Montpensier, Jardin du Palais-Royal, 75001.
  • Head to Petit Bateau for the best cheap but chic Tee shirts, dresses and tops in the world. Petit-bateau.
