I had never heard of this photgrapher until I saw this incredible book on the 72-year-old Swiss photographer with the Magnum agency who has “covered almost every defining political crisis and social upheaval of the last 50 years — Suez, Vietnam, Cuba, the Middle East and China, to name a few — and photographed everyone from Picasso to Che Guevara, Fidel Castro to Le Corbusier.” This book is huge and heavy and all the black and white shots are really amazing: each chapters is accompanied by a brief essay that gives an overview of the images, the time period and political climate.
