Meet Choupette, fashion’s favorite feline

Meet Choupette, the cutest kitten and fashion’s favorite feline….according to Karl Lagerfeld from US

“Unbelievable, no? She doesn’t know”. (how famous she’s become)

“She has an attitude like a princess”

“You know, she has two maids, and the driver takes care of her too.”

“They spend hours together and do her beauty jobs, her hair, and all those things, and they have moments of tenderness with her.

“They have to write in the book exactly what they’re doing. Because there’s a diary, I know everything”

“the doctor does her manicure. She hates when we do it ourselves. The only time she makes a scandal is then. on her claws”

“She doesn’t like to eat on the floor, so I have to put the food on the table. Her dishes are by Goyard. She has one for water, one for her little croquette, and one for her pâté.

“She likes strange toys, toys that aren’t supposed to be toys. She plays with pieces of wood, pieces of paper, shopping bags…..She loves shopping bags.”

Paris: A Love Story by Kati Marton

Paris: A Love Story by Kati Marton

I read the excerpt of this book in the August issue of: a great read.
‘This is a memoir for anyone who has ever fallen in love in Paris, or with Paris. For anyone who has ever had their heart broken or their life upended.

In this remarkably honest and candid memoir, award-winning journalist and distinguished author Kati Marton narrates an impassioned and romantic story of love, loss, and life after loss. Paris is at the heart of this deeply moving account. At every stage of her life, Marton finds beauty and excitement in Paris, and now, after the sudden death of her husband, Richard Holbrooke, the city offers a chance for a fresh beginning. With intimate and nuanced portraits of Peter Jennings, the man to whom she was married for fifteen years and with whom she had two children, and Holbrooke, with whom she found enduring love, Marton paints a vivid account of an adventuresome life in the stream of history. Inspirational and deeply human, Paris: A Love Story will touch every generation.’

It’s a story of three of the best..

This week’s FiFi Report is a story of three. Three of the best pieces you need. Right now. This week. This instant.  Three styles of pants. Three great tops. Three fabulous pairs of shoes. Oh and one amazing cheap but chic leather clutch.

So let’s start with the FiFi find of the week. The fabulous leather zip clutch from American Apparel. It’s whispering sweet nothings to me. I saw it on their website so to be honest I have not actually clapped eyes on it. But what do you want in real leather for $64? Pretty bloody good. Love the orange but you can go for red, black or millions of other colours. Some are sold out. Left building. May return. The size is big. This is good news. It means you can use it every day and still carry around all your crap. i.e makeup. Gin. valium. etc. Tip: The clutch is still hot. Which is why I am mentioning. Of course. Buy $64.

bassike-orange-chinosfrench-conn-blue-and-white-print-pantscountry-road-side-stripe-pants

The three pants you need now apart from jeans? : A print PJ pant. ( which you can wear literally as PJ’s when the trend is over), the coloured slouch chino and the classic cream trouser with a side stripe. So let’s start with the print pants. You need one pair. You don’t have to be a victim and go crazy. You can do it subtly. Like these cool dude pants from French connection. I mean you can’t go wrong with navy and white. Love with heels. Love with a navy blazer and white Tee. You can hike them down lower to sit on the hips. You know nappy pant style. Or just wear them on the waist. TIP: Just because they have an elastic waist does not mean you can start guzzling almond croissants. sorry. $99 Buy

We discussed the side stripe pants in last week’s FiFi Report. Very Celine etc. This means you want them. You can’t actually see much of the stripe in this pic but it’s pretty cool. Oh and slimming on the fatty arbukle hips. That bit of black can do wonders with the optical illusion side of the things. Wear with a black top, a white top or heck even a bright top. Will look adorable ( said with French accent) with a classic black blazer or leather jacket. It should be something that stops at the waist. Sorry, but no hiding the butt in these pants. Add heels. Tip: if you would like to see a human speciman wearing this look check out Exhibit A Miranda Kerr and the chic Miss Blake Lively rocking da look. . Fabulous. $99. Buy .

:
Love these cool Bassike slouch chinos. You probably rushed out and bought bright jeans as I instructed years/seasons ago. Good girl. See how much wear you have had since I first put you onto this trend in March last year? The cost per wear has been, like, 20 cents. If you have a little trouble wearing tight bright jeans such as my good self then I suggest you go for looser slouchier chinos. In a colour. Roll up the hem why don’t you? Add heels. Duh. Wear with white or taupe or any of those expensive colours. I think these Bassike are also available in a fabulous French blue as well.  Oh, they have a little stretch in them which means you can bend over and try on new shoes without breaking into a sweat. Thankyou Bassike. Tip: The colour shown in the shot is for some reason paler than in real life.  So head in store and check the colours  $280. Buy

bardot-peplum-top1military-khaki-green-shirtwitchery-metallic-gold-silver-tee

If you have been following The FiFi Report on Instagram ( FIFiReport) you would have seen this fabulous bardot top. And you have already raced in there and bought it. The peplum top is the hot piece of the season. No need to spend too much. Talk about flattering. The cut is very kind and sucks you in at the right place. But watch: then it does that cute dance and skims over those bits sticking out sitting on the side. Called your hips. Love the neckline. It sits right into the base of the neck. This is called neck lengthening.Wear this under a jacket as I styled way back in March under a glitter jacket or trench. It also looks best on its own. In summer. With a tan. $59. Buy

:
You may have noticed that metallics are a big story. Gold, Silver, and Bronze. Then again you may not . Which is why you are reading The FiFi Report. Bless. Tip: any flashy trend should be tackled in a subtle way. You don’t want to look like a fashion victim. Not under my watch anyway. So take a touch of the trend. Make it the centre point and mix it back with your classics. Speaking of trends: I might just vomit if I see any more pastels or neons. I know. It’s July and we are over it. Mmm but was I ever on it?. No. Pastels are for kids. Neons are for accessories. Please just ignore this trend along with all those horrible florals***. Do you see Gywneth ever wearing any of those trends ? Nope. The only colour we saw in her latest travel wardrobe in was red or pink shoes. I rest my case. Now back to this metallic gold/silver shimmmer tee. It will love to be seen with your boyfriend jeans, with white jeans, with a black leather skirt. Not much else to say really. Except it’s cool. You need it. Perfect for the day to evening-mid week-I-want-to-look-a-little-chicer- with chinos and heels when I go out to dinner look. Add clutch. Add Mr. Clooney. $89.95
*** Anything Celine is an exception the floral rule. Buy

The camouflage Khaki look has been happening for a while. I feel like I’ve been chatting about it for seasons. Tip: As with all these trends they tend to make a scene. They scream and shout on the runways/ style blogs. Then they kind of disappear to have a resurgence on the street. I saw style blogger Garance Dore wearing - with such nonchalance- a military shirt with a floral skirt on the J crew site. See the . So then I was on the hunt. Dear FiFi Readers. You can relax. I have found the real thing. A real live military shirt. It’s a man style so buy it small. Then wash it in Napisan. Jump on it in your heels. And hit it a few times. Think of all your ex-husbands and you’ll get the desired effect.  It’s actually a ‘Special Forces’ shirt so it can take it. And it’s just $24. Make love not war. Buy online .

trenery-brown-silver-flat-tan-sandalswittner-lace-ups-blakc-suede-heelszadig-voltaire-red-snakeskin-pumps

The three pairs of shoes you need going into next season? A roman flat sandal in a tan, a sexy, laceup kitten heel and fabulous red/neon pointy toe pumps. You want the flats from Trenery because they have that cute bit of metallic strap to joosh it up. Plus gladiator style sandals are still chic but you’ll notice this season they are not too Roman/Russel Crowe. esque. Not too tough. Go for tan. (It will match your sword). That colour will lift and brighten ( like your foundation) everything else. Sorry to discuss summer while it’s freezing outside but we have to think ahead. It’s classic Fashion jet lag. Or a plotting a summer escapade to Bali/Cap Ferrat.$119. Buy

:
I snapped a shot of these shoes for Instagram. Then I tried them on. Well, I had to. It’s my job. Talk about comfortable. I was actually in there snooping to check out somethat were reduced to $44. But then I saw these. The girls in the store oohhed and ahhed. Gushing about how much cooler, chicer and generally more fabulous they look on the foot than on the shelf. Oh, I’m a sucker for compliments. Anyway you could shop and walk and talk all day in these. Love with boyfriend jeans or rolled chinos. And- goodness gracious me- you could wear with a dress. I kid you not. Just tuck the bow in. TIP: This style of shoe is hot de la hot and has replaced stomp-a -licious heels. Repetez. Repetez. $149.Buy .

from Nordstrom:
The other shoe you need is a bright pointy heel. You could try the bright Neon look in orange from Wanted see for like nothing. Ok. $59. That’s all you need to pay for outrageous I -just-wanna-have-fun-for-one-season -shoes. (They were in weeks ago). You can see the Wanted heels are very high. Not walkable. But hey, that never stopped you before.  Just totter and be fabulous. But now I’m thinking ahead to next season.  As in winter which is instore/online . And I’m thinking burgundy or dark red snakeskin. So chic. So right. So right now. Love this pair above: They have a cheeky jewelled black skull on the back. Edgy. Wear with everything now while it’s chilly. Then add to your white/blue/orange jeans in summer.  Wear with long skinny legs and short skinny shorts if you have both. If you want to invest in more fabulous designer shoes you can buy Prada at Nordstrom. Or just have a little window shop. And drool. $ 276. From
