kate moss does not dress like a wife.

“No! Definitely not! He would go mental if I started dressing like a wife! No! He likes me when I’m a rock’n'roll kind of a girl.” Kate Moss to when asked if her style has changed since getting married.

“People try and tempt me to do that. They’re like, “Everyone will be copying it, and it will be hilarious. Do it!” But. I’m not tempted … [I worry,] ‘Are they gonna put it in all the magazines?’ Ha! But no. I haven’t done it on purpose” Kate Moss has considered wearing horrible things just to see if people will imitate her.

“Huge, spectacular, often slightly tacky, obvously [sic] expensive, it feels like a very long Glee fantasy sequence crossed with a particularly lavish Eurovision Song Contest performance, with better songs and a lot less humour,” Vogue Italia Did Not Enjoy Madonna’s Concert in Rome.

“I’m a size 0 - and not happy about it! I went way too far. I prefer myself a bit chunkier. I want my old butt back!” Rihanna

“I’m sick of seeing happy homosexuals in high school. The gay guys, who I adore, were not running around in high school singing and dancing. They were hiding, frightened they would be beaten to a pulp. Plus, Lea Michele isn’t in high school — she’s a 37-year-old woman.” Joan Rivers’ in her new book, “I Hate Everyone … Starting with Me”.

“She could use some Spanx,” Joan Rivers on Queen Elizabeth.

“Yeah, I wear it and I keep it ” Tom Cruise Wears His Codpiece Around the House (from the movie Rock of ages.) Spanx?

Capital: A Novel ….by John Lanchester

Capital: A Novel ….by John Lanchester

This book has had rave reviews…
‘Celebrated novelist John Lanchester (”an elegant and wonderfully witty writer”-New York Times) returns with an epic novel that captures the obsessions of our time. It’s 2008 and things are falling apart:Bear Stearns and Lehman Brothers are going under, and the residents of Pepys Road, London-a banker and his shopaholic wife, an old woman dying of a brain tumor and her graffiti-artist grandson, Pakistani shop owners and a shadowy refugee who works as the meter maid, the young soccer star from Senegal and his minder-are receiving anonymous postcards reading “We Want What You Have.” Who is behind it? What do they want? Epic in scope yet intimate, capturing the ordinary dramas of very different lives, this is a novel of love and suspicion, of financial collapse and terrorist threat, of property values going up and fortunes going down, and of a city at a moment of extraordinary tension ‘

“Effortlessly brilliant-gripping for its entire duration, hugely moving and outrageously funny.” (Observer (UK) )

“Brimming with perception, humane empathy and relish, its portrayal of this metropolitan miscellany is, in every sense, a capital achievement.” (Times on Sunday (UK) )

“It is Lanchester’s gifts for observation and description that make Capital such a riveting read. It is a novel in which every few chapters a sentence will provoke an “I wish I had said that” reaction or, when it is a familiar thought, an: “I wish I had said that so well.” … Above all, Lanchester should be applauded for a novel that is as readable as it is clever. He never attempts to prove his own intelligence, yet it oozes from every page.” (Evening Standard (UK)

“The book John Lanchester was born to write.” (The Guardian (UK) )

Sale time….

Sales galore this week! Keep calm. Take a big deep breathe. Remember to think ahead to next season. Then if the brain can cope think ahead to next summer. Then before you get whipped into a frenzy think ahead to to what’s hot on the runways next winter. You need to get mileage from your wardrobe. Buyers remorse be damned! The trends for next summer are brights , white and pastels and yes, florals. Rule number one: Ignore pastels. Why? Because next winters’ shows in March were all about black gothic and the girl with dragon tattoo.  Nuf said. The resort collections are now showing. These collections give a hint of what’s to come for next summer. So what to buy now? Anything in leather. Black, white and any graphic print tops and pants. Any Floral if you can cope and you are under 40. ( otherwsie forget it : florals add years). Bright jeans, of course. Oversized man-style coats.  Accessories to add colour. oh and leopard print. If both Celine and Stella showed it in resort 2013 it’s officially a trend.
My picks for the week…

.
This top (above) has no hanger appeal. Bless. But throw it on and watch it do it’s thang. Love the V neck and the way it cuts into the neck making it seem longer. Love the sleeves that sit wider over the shoulders. You will adore the way it skims over the muffin situation but then hangs on the hips. Meaning? You won’t look like Octomom. Perfect to add colour but without going crazy. Wear now under your black coat and then into summer. now $74.25

trenery-red-jeans-june-12ysl-tote-sakssaba-chunky-canle-sweater-june-12

Love the cable. Love it with a leather skirt. Red jeans, white jeans, or grey jeans etc. Not on sale but it’s a great buy. Yes, please.$229.00  80% Acrylic 10% Wool 10% Alpaca.

New in store; these jeans are a great fit. I have chosen red but please don’t roll your eyes thinking I am repeating myself. again. You have got the message about red, pants. The thing is I love the dark grey colour but on this page the red is more exciting. There are also a few other colours such as orange, cream. camel : go crazy! A must buy. Wear with heels or back with your fav leather converse. $99.

It’s on sale. You want it. You need it. You are dying to have it. The stand- up tote is the look you want. It’s casual. It’s low key chic. It’s luxe. It’s a winner. Love the animal print lining. You are sure to find your wallet in there. Throw it over your shoulder or tote around in the crook of your arm. I mean do I need to say anything else except YVES SAINT LAURENT. Shut up. was AUD $1274.56 Now AUD $892. I die.

white-suede-leather-jacketsaba-print-black-and-white-print-pantsred-poitnheels-la-victoire1

You saw these in from a couple of weeks ago. Now they are on sale. (By the way the photo on the SABA website is so bad it will put you off buying them. Note to SABA: Please don’t wear a belt with these pants. ewww.)  I’ve pulled out the shot of lovely model Angela again to show you how fab they are. TIP: f you are going to rock the print pants - and you can - go for black and white unless you are brave and confident with the legs to match. Bless. Wear with heels so that you don’t look like you got off the plane from Denpasar.  $79

.
You need a red pointy heel. But you knew that because I’m always reminding you. It will add colour to your all black/ grey /brown wardrobe. It will say ” I am groovy “. It will say” I am cool”.  It will say smile and say ” I am only $124.98 Please buy me” Now go AS fast as you can to the endless site.  it’s my new find. They have just recently opened up international shipping through Amazon. The shipping is $5. OMG! Not a typo. FIVE dollars. Scientific tests have proved it because I bought some fabulous loafers from the site last week. Five dollars shipping and they arrived in a week. Whaaaat?!! The other great news? My fav - which are sooo comfortable- are also here at $89..Oh la la …It’s a fabulous site…

The leather jacket is a wardrobe must have. Of course. But do you need another biker jacket? main non!. What you need is the leather jacket to throw on like a cardigan. This little number at White suede is the just right. It’s the kind of jacket to throw over a tee or knit and wear day to night. Problem: A biker jacket has to come off at dinner. Then the dilemma of what to wear under it can make you hyper ventilate. Put down the paper bag. Toss this jacket over a fine knit or T-shirt , with a skirt or jeans. Eat dinner. Look fabulous. Relax. George will kiss you. Then you can keep wearing it into summer. Love. A great price of $379

katies-brown-pleatehr-skirtsportscraft-poloneck-whitesass-and-bide-trench-leopard

Oh la la! Everything is $15! How can that be? Italian Vogue is more expensive. My pick? The pleather brown pencil skirt. I’m not sure of the quality but really, it will cost you more to park your car in valet.  There are some great jeans for $15 as well. Love this skirt with the cream poloneck and the leopard trend. cool. dude. WAS $49.95 NOW $15.

.
As I was saying it looks as if leopard print is a big trend for the resort 2013 collections. If and both show the look then it’s time to take notice. Love this trench because it’s, um, er, a trench. How can I resist? The print is in tres chic colours. I like the funky zip and gold hardware sporty details. Plus it’s now on sale. I say ticks all round. Wear over everything including your PJ’s. Now $320.00 was $550.00

.
I’ve been looking for a white poloneck sweater. I’m inspired by . You may remember the white poloneck as the way back in The FiFi Report in March 2011.  Love it. I see what I need at Sportcraft. the cut is greaty: it’s not too loose so it will fit nicely under a jacket. But it will skim over the bits . It’s not too cling fit . It’s in merino wool. Also white next your face takes 10 years off. Oh look at that : I’m now officially 25. cough cough. $119.95

Poached Rhubarb with Yoghurt and Basil

Poached Rhubarb with Yoghurt and Basil ….adulterated from
This is just perfect for breakfast or dessert. It’s from Michelle Bridges. Yes, it’s time to think about getting into skinny jeans.

You need for 8 servings or 34 models. Or one week of breakfast trying to get into bikini:

1/3 cup low-GI sugar
juice of 1 orange
500g rhubarb, cut into 4cm pieces
750g low-kilojoule plain yoghurt
2 tabsp basil leaves

  • Climb into Prada Puffa jacket.
  • Pull on Gucci sheep skin socks.
  • Get George out there chopping the wood for the fire.
  • Pour a wine or ten.
  • Chop the Rhubarb into small pieces. Get rid of toxic leaves.
  • Throw sugar and orange juice in a medium saucepan.
  • Stir over a low heat until sugar has dissolved, then bring to the boil.
  • Toss in the rhubarb and reduce heat to low.
  • Cook, covered (that’s the saucepan not you) for 8-10 minutes or until rhubarb is soft as a Chloe bag (but still holds its shape like George Cloooney).
  • Let it to cool in the pan.
  • Pour another wine.
  • To serve, divide the yoghurt among 8 bowls (that’s 4 for you and 4 for George) and drizzle with poached rhubarb.
  • Accessorise with basil leaves

Tips:
Never eat rhubarb leaves; they are toxic.
This recipe serves 8, so unless you have a family (or guests for dinner), store leftovers in the fridge and serve with yoghurt and/or natural muesli for breakfast, or freeze it.
If you’re using the poached rhubarb for breakfast or another recipe, note that there are 223 kilojoules per serve. Thanks Michelle.
