• The fabulous and chic white Tee with a nautical navy stripe: it’s a little different from the average stripe Tee in that it has a subtle drape neckline and snazzy exposed zips on the shoulders. Sounds too tricky but it’s actually quite cool $49. Anyway how many times do I have to tell you that a stripe Tee is a must buy. It’s print when you don’t want to do prints. Looks fab under a blazer with denim whatever age you are.
• There is a fabulous black round neck, sleeveless tank top (not a scoop as far as I can see) with silky satin round discs sewn all over it. Is it Lanvin inspired? I think it looks way more expensive than $69. It’s almost a sequin tank when you don’t want the glitter. The satin discs are very chic. Wear this with all your favourite casual bottoms from harem pants to short sexy shorts. Love it with baggy parachute pants and heels.
• I have mentioned it many times ( and dragged many a personal shopping client in to buy it ) but you must try on the navy and white ticking seersucker stripe very Gucci shrunken cotton blazer. It cinches in to one button with short 3/4 sleeves but I think it has hot pink lining. You can ignore that. Don’t worry no- one will see it if you don’t take it off. Love this for summer as it is light weight and not black! But just as versatile. $129
• Everyone needs a black silky chiffon strapless maxi dress: this one has a ruched bodice which means it flattens the boobs and then floats out to a long dress with tiers and a ruffle along the hem. It’s a beach pool dress if ever I saw one $149.
• You want the fresh and simple cotton grandpa shirt in navy and white check: it has ¾ rollup sleeves and a loose shape $89. So easy to toss on with jeans for the weekend or with cute shorts. Love it. Especially if you have muffin arms and hate waving to people. Bless

New season is in store: a few casual pieces here (but I have already been to be the beach for my holidays).
My picks are:

• The very glamorous, over the top, sparkle party top : it has a round neck ( is that a scoop I see?!) in grey cotton jersey and scattered with a lot of silver and white sequins and beads across it going in stripes ( if you get what I mean). Hint: sequins and glitter are not going away and this trend will still be here for next season so just invest in one or two pieces. Remember to dress down and wear with harem pants or ripped faded jeans. $99
• Buy the lovely grey sheer sequin tank $129: it’s in a very pretty sheer fabric with cream and brown and caramel sequins all over it. This will work with black or choc brown. Plus the flesh colours, bronze and caramel tones are a huge trend for next summer so this is a fabulous buy. Tip: :Aways great to layer over a white tank to add a contrast and a lazy casual edge to the look.
• I see a fabulous, long cotton top in navy with white stripes; it has cute rolled up short sleeves and epaulettes : so sporty and French but is it a nightie? Who cares! It has a round neckline with a few buttons down the front. So cute and perfect for rocking around the house or pool $39 ( I think).
• You should also check out the fabulous sleepwear here : cute little cami tops in a fabulous bright paisley print with matching PJ pants: I am getting sleepy just thinking about it. So comfortable and so relaxing what more do you want to wear on an Australia Day long weekend? $39

• The black shiny sequin, sleeveless tank dress: chic de la chic but definitely a party dress! Now $350. It has a simple shape with a round neckline and a straight shape. Can be tricky to wear which is why you should buy the more versatile black sequin tank. I know they are not going away so stop fighting and just buy one; The sequin tank is great: wear and you can dress it down with jeans or cargoes or with flats; yes , flats. Now $180! It’s bargain!
• Love the khaki belted cotton harem pants now on sale $380. Khaki is the colour for next season so get it into now.
• You want the divine pewter silver brocade, sleeveless dress; It’s a straight shift shape with a pleating/gathering down the front: a special dress but it could be quite versatile: you know you can wear this in winter with black opaques under a trench : Mais oui! Now $500.
• Check out the chic sleeveless day dress: it’s a dark grey shift in gabardine (I think) with a round neckline with a drape back ( Hint: it will reveal a tiny bit of your back !) Also tres versatile: $400

Pavlova Eton Mess.…Adulterated from Nigella’s Summer Food from foodnetwork.com

Australia Day calls for a classic Aussie dessert. This is a Pavlova when you don’t want to make a pavlova. Just buy the meringues and crumble them with cream then drizzle with strawberries marinated with pomegranate juice. Fabulous!

Nigella says “This recipe uses bottled fresh pomegranate juice to encourage the strawberries to ooze out their fragrant summery juices. You can use freshly squeezed pomegranate juice, in which case, sprinkle some seeds on top of this voluptuous mound of meringue and berry spiked cream”.

You need for 4 greedy gourmandes or 30 models:

4 cups fresh strawberries
2 teaspoons caster or vanilla sugar
2 teaspoons fresh or bottled pomegranate juice
2 cups whipping cream
1 packet individual meringue nests

• Slip into Zimmerman Maxi dress for Australia Day.
• Throw on your thongs.
• Get George Clooney to light the Barbeque
• Pour a Champers. Or two.
• Find a chic bowl.
• Hull and then chop the strawberries into the size of a Jimmy Choo buckle.
• Toss the strawberries in the bowl and sprinkle with sugar and the pomegranate juice.
• Give it a mix so the strawberries are completely covered and then leave the flavours to macerate and dissolve together while you whip the cream.
• In a large bowl you should whip the naughty cream until it’s thick but still soft. A bit like Kylie Minogue.
• Now get the meringues and crumble them into the cream: You want large chunks as big as Elle Macpherson’s brain. But a few sprinkles of fine Meringue dust is also good too. Think Nicole Kidman’s makeup.
• Now get about half a cupful of the chopped strawberries, and fold the meringue cream and rest of the fruit mixture together. Don’t worry there are no calories on public holidays. K.Rudd said so.
• Plop the delicious red and creamy goo into about four chic George Jensen plates (or glasses or in a mound) and accessorise each with some of the remaining macerated strawberries.
• Too, too, Too Divine. Aussie. Aussie, Aussie. Yum. Yum. Yum.
