It’s Kate Moss unplugged!  …( from the September issue of Interview Magazine)

  • “All those Pucci numbers and things that I wore when I was 17 . . . I won’t really wear. But I’m saving them for her ( my daughter) really. That’s my blackmail. "Don’t eat your dinner, and you won’t get my clothes. You won’t grow, and you won’t get into my clothes." Now she’s a fashion freak.”
  • “I was 15, and [Corinne Day]‘d make me take off my top, and I’d cry. After five years, you get used to it, and you’re not self-conscious anymore. You’re not conscious about your flaws. Bowlegs. Crooked teeth. That is what makes you different from everyone else. But when I was 15, I was like, "Oh no, I don’t want to be different. I want to have big tits! I want to look like Cindy Crawford!"
  • “You go to a show, and there’s no food at all, so if you’re doing shows back to back, you can forget eating. I remember standing up in the bath one day, and there was a mirror in front of me, and I was so thin! I hated it. I never liked being that skinny.I was never anorexic, so I was never that skinny. I was never bony-bony. But I remember thinking, I don’t want to be this skinny” .
  • “I met Frank Sinatra and Bob Dylan in the space of 15 minutes. Frank Sinatra kissed me on the lips.”
  • “I had this amazing PA, and we used to pack ( for trips) together, and she got so used to what I wanted to pack that she got to point where she would just do it all–and perfectly. Now she’s away , and I have completely forgotten how to do it. It’s so weird. I just organize by bags of specific things. Bags of knickers, bags of bikinis, bags of dresses. My suitcase is a mess if I do it myself.”
  • “I wasn’t the Amazonian girl that everyone in fashion was used to, with the big tits, all curvy and tall. I was small in comparison. It’s funny, though, because I always thought I was as tall as, like, Christy, and then I’d be doing her makeup in the mirror and realize that I was 5 inches shorter.
American Apparel

The search in life is always the same:
Where to find a good surgeon.
Where to find a good husband.
Where to find a good therapist.
Where to find outrageous statement gladiator heels that don’t hurt.
Where to find a good husband who is a surgeon who doesn’t wear gladiator heels or need therapy.
Where to find the perfect T shirt.
I have solved one of these quests.
American Apparel is famous for their T shirts. Now a store has opened in Oxford Street– thank the lord - and it’s full to the brim with every size, colour and shape. It’s Tee shirt heaven. You will love the T-shirt dresses $42, the long sleeve Tees $24, the cute tennis dress with a button front $55, the Long Johns $61, and the ‘boy beater’ tank $28. My favourite? The racer back rib tank dress $42. In every colour under the sun.Therapy and Gladiators not included.

Statement oversized jeweled necklaces

What: Statement oversized jeweled necklaces.
Which: Look for a huge standout necklaces with serious embellishment in amazing shapes.
Why: Because it’s time to replace the oversized designer IT bag. Because a statement necklace will add drama to the new severe, austere and very sculptural silhouette coming next winter. Because wearing one strong piece makes dressing easy. Because a huge necklace lifts all your dark black and grey. Because a serious necklace means no one will look at your scruffy shoes or muffin bottom.
Wear: With black and grey. With simple bright colours a la YSL. With strong shapes and clean necklines. Leave the earrings, cuffs and bracelets stashed away in the safe.
Where: and . Or head to , , or .

Kiehl’s Aloe Vera Biodegradable Liquid Body Cleanser

We love Brad Pitt. He has joined with Kiehl’s to launch a body cleanser. WWD reports that “unlike past celebrity ventures, Pitt’s name isn’t on the bottle and he won’t appear in the ads.” It’s only his writing that is scribbled across the label. “The sole purpose is to raise funds for charity rather than boost the incomes of the star and the beauty firm. One hundred percent of the net profits from sales of Kiehl’s Aloe Vera Biodegradable Liquid Body Cleanser, due out in October, will benefit JPF Eco Systems, a charitable foundation created by Kiehl’s and Pitt to support global environmental initiatives. The cleanser, a permanent addition to the Kiehl’s will retail for US $16.50 a bottle and is expected to raise at least $1 million for the charity.”

Anyone who is handsome, intelligent and uses their celebrity status to do good deserves to marry Angelina Jolie and have 10 children.

Godchildren ……by Nicholas Coleridge
‘Nicholas Coleridge is managing director of Condé Nast in Britain, the magazine publishing house that includes Vogue, Tatler, House & Garden and Vanity Fair. In his new novel; a sweeping drama, Coleridge (A Much Married Man) zeroes in on a charismatic tycoon whose desires and drive know no bounds. As a godfather of six, wealthy and domineering Marcus Brand is largely absent, except for his occasional invitations to visit him at his enchanting island getaway. What develops is a confounding routine; at unexpected intervals, Brand summons his godchildren, only to wreak havoc on their lives and complicate their already conflicted opinions of him. Coleridge’s latest family epic will hold readers spellbound.’
“Nicholas Coleridge makes a witty and acerbic guide to this arcane, and largely secret, world.”Julian Fellowes,Academy Award-wining writer of Gosford Park
A keen observer of class, manners, and sexual frisson, Coleridge is a master of the social romp.”–Graydon Carter, editor-in-chief, Vanity Fair
His most unputdownable novel yet.” –GQ
Godchildren has everything you could hope for exotic locations, decadent parties, heroes and villains, sex and death…beautifully written.” Mail on Sunday (UK)

More and more goodies here…
• Channel Carrie Bradshaw and slip into the white and pretty blue cabbage rose print strapless dress. It has boned corset bodice and a petticoat under it for maximum shape. So cute; Wear with a serious tough bondage belt and Mimco black edgy Achilles heels. Pretty dresses need toughening up or you will look too retro and quite frankly WRONG. We can’t have you looking wrong. $129.
• Why spend a fortune on an expensive evening bag when you can get a chic black glomesh bag here for an outrageous $29?
• It’s true: the maxi dress is still a happening for summer. Love the African graphic print dress in dark oranges, browns and creams with a shirred top and shoestring straps. Wear on the beach, to a BBQ, at home. Do not wear in the street unless you were born in 1990. Do not wear with high heels. Flats, flats, flats are de rigueur. $99
• You need aviators with a bright blue trim, so much more interesting than plain black or tortoiseshell $24. And I love the dark navy aviators, very Carrera $24.
• Be prepared: Floral is the big trend for summer. If you are not into pretty pretty such as my goodself invest in one or two little chiffon tops. A little boho you can wear it, love it, thrash it and say goodbye to it after summer. Buy the small floral print , chiffon peasant top with elastic hemline $79
• Love the fabulous straw trilby with a red trim band: it’s THE hat for summer. $24.00. So chic. No shade from the sun. It just looks good. Sunscreen is a must.
• If you have long sexy legs you want to show off. Then you will love the short denim shorts $69.95

Witchery:
• You want a denim blazer this season. Throw it over all your black, wear with all those bright colours. The neat tailoring with razz up casual denim and the denim gives a casual edge to the tailored jacket. Don’t wear with any other denim unless you want to look like Tammy Faye Baker $129.
• You must have the red woven leather clutch with gold hardware : wear it wityh anything and watch it add a little va va voom and bright colour to your wardrobe. $149
• LOVE the cream sheer poets blouse. Why? Most importantly it seems uncrushable! It’s soft and pretty with big cuffed sleeves and a drawstring neckline. The drawstring hem should sit tied on the hips; This means it skims very nicely over chips and hamburgers $149
• Short, short denim shorts are for those who think they can show off their legs. $69
• After a simple white tank? It’s here with chic double stitching detailing on the shoulder with a scoop neckline. Hint: scoop necklines can be scary if you are over 25. $34
• Buy the chic black patent flat gladiator sandals which buckle up and stop at the ankle. Simple $99
• No need to stagger around in heels at a party if you don’t want to. Invest in the matte gold ballet flats with seriously diamantes jewels on the toe. Wear for day with jeans and a Tee. $149
Esprit:
• It’s official: the faded denim jacket from the 80’s is back; Wear It over your floral dresses or a simple white tank and a 50’s skirt. $119.
• There are always fabulous bags here: buy the black pleather slouchy messenger bag with silver zips on sale $59. Or buy the dark brown patent.
• Love the dark denim shirt dress . It has no visible stitching and is slighty shaped with a double stitch detail on the hips and buttons down the front. It has epaulettes and short sleeves. This will look good on a lot of people. I Know it will. $119
Equip:
Ignore the bright lights and sneak in here for bargains galore….
• Check out the dark brown woven clutch with no visible hardware. Simple and understated. Ditto the burgundy dark red woven pleather clutch $24. I don’t think it’s legal to sell bags at this price.

I see a lot of delicious red and choc brown. Best picks include:
• A chic slouchy chocolate brown bag with silver details, two handles and the all important extra long shoulder strap ( al Miu Miu that just hangs there) $329
• You will love the dark denim skinny jeans. With no obvious coloured stitching and a great fit these are a must buy. Think of dark denim as a replacement for black pants. $129
• There are a few different trench coats here but I love the short, 3/4 DB belted stone version …. Remember it doesn’t have to be raining to wear a trench. But you knew that. $379
• Invest in the black satin coat dress/ jacket. It’s tailored. It has shoulder pads. Not obvious ones. It’s very fitted and shaped. You can wear this with jeans or over skinny black pants. You can wear this over a pretty floral dress, or over a minimalist grey sheath dress. You can wear this jacket belted in. $379.
• Check out the cute little red straw trilby with a taupe stripe band. Wear it sitting jauntily on the side of you head. You could wear this to the races too. $79
Country Road:
The accessories are fabulous at great prices. Best buys include:
• The gorgeous chiffon layered sleeveless cream top. It should be worn with everything from jeans to knits to work…it’s your new T shirt $139.
• We all want and need a long line cardigan with its own little knit belt and a long V neck. Invest in camel and wear it thrown nonchalantly over the chiffon layered top or over a Tee. Wear it over shorts, wear it over a dress and replace the knit belt with your own choc brown leather belt. The good news is this cardigan is long enough to cover your bottom. $119. Also in a fabulous silver lurex. You can wear silver lurex in the day if you dress it down and mix it with a casual white Tee and denim or chinos.
• Buy the red patent oversized Mulberry-esque bag…it has serious gold hardware, pockets at the front and room to spare to store everything from your bottle of whisky to George Clooney (and some spare undies too). $99
• If you are not into bling but you want to throw something around your neck that isn’t a child I insist you race out and buy the red, brown or white large link necklace. Very Marni-esque, very arts and crafts, very affordable. A great way to add texture, a little colour, and a little personality. You can buy personality now. $49
• Pull in your muffin top with the fabulous light grey, cotton, high waist pants. They are so flattering. They seem to shrink the hips and the waist. With a wider leg it all seems to balance out. Wear with wedge heels, a denim blazer, a red belt and a white tee. So 70’s, so Charlie’s Angels. $129
• Love the silver or red thin belts $49, the cute little red hat $39, the long scarves in reds, creams, and greys and the very YSL-esque platform sandals. $179

Best picks are…
• The extra long black patent gladiator flats with gold studs that stop mid shin: Perfect with a toga. And isn’t that the point? Beware or you will look like you are having dinner with Plato. $129.
• The very Chloe-esque wide strap black patent sandals with a small cone triangle heel. These are fabulous if you want to be able to walk. They seem quite comfortable and you don’t need an oxygen mask to climb into them.
• The chic cream patent, round toe, very 20’s style heels. With a chunky square wooden heel and 4 straps across the front they look very similar to Chanel. This is a good thing. $139.

Coconut Bread …Adulterated from Bills.

Coconut Bread …Adulterated from Bills.
Perfect for a naughty but nice breakfast slathered with lashings of butter. It’s tastes better toasted and lasts for days. Then use it as a door stop.

One loaf will feed 30 models, 2 footy players, 4 girls in Boarding school, and 1 truck driver

2 eggs
300ml butter milk or plain old boring milk
1 tsp vanilla extract
2 cups plain flour
½ cup wholemeal self raising flour
1 tsp baking powder
2 tsp ground cinnamon
1 cup caster sugar
150g shredded coconut
75g unsalted butter, melted

  • Preheat oven to 180°C.
  • Take off your Prada gloves.
  • Stand over the stove to defrost.
  • Find a loaf pan and moisturise it.
  • You can line or flour if you so desire.
  • Get the butter out of the fridge.
  • Put the wine back in the fridge. It’s too early.
  • Throw the butter in a saucepan to melt it.
  • Find a mixing bowl and throw in the eggs, the milk and the vanilla.
  • Give a light little whisk. That is whisk not whisky.
  • Find another bowl and sift in the flour, the baking flour and the cinnamon.
  • Now toss in the sugar and the coconut and stir it and mix it.
  • Make a cute little well in the center of all dry ingredients.
  • Gradually stir in the egg mix. Think face mask.
  • Drizzle in the melted butter and stir until mixture is just smooth (do not over-mix. Keep it minimal).
  • Pour it into the moisturised baking tin.
  • Throw in the oven and bake for 1 hour or until it’s cooked and bouncy. Like you will be after eating it.
  • It should be as gorgeous and brown as an Hermes bag.
  • It’s ready if you tap on it and it sounds empty. Just like a model.
  • Let it cool for about 5 minutes and then turn it out on a wire rack.
  • Serve it toasted or warm in thick slices with lashings of butter.
  • Delicious. You can diet tomorrow.
