Around 30, I kind of realized that alcohol really does solve your problems. Whoever said drinking doesn’t help lied. You live and you learn." Jewel, Hic ! on discovering the joys of drinking.
“Ask an American guy what his beauty regime is, and he’ll tell you. Ask a Brit, and he’ll say, ‘Er… Guinness?’ Keira Knightlely loves Brits.
" He is the gayest f**king thing on two legs. Anyone who lives with their mama that long and dresses up in that much spangly gold with black lacquer on their eyes has definitely got something going on." Jonathan Rhys Meyers on Elvis Presley. An American guy who had a beauty routine.
"Everyone is made differently, and that’s what makes us beautiful and unique. I want girls to look in the mirror and feel confident." Ashlee Simpson lies ( which is why she got a nose job and her lips done)
“ I am checking into rehab today. I am on my way right now," Brandon David days after he blurted out insults about Lindsay Lohan. ( he is going in for the beauty regime)
"Brandon must have watched that footage a thousand times. He can’t believe those words came out of his mouth and realised it was the drugs and drink talking." All lies.
"Z’s a little jealous because she’s still a little girl." Angelina Jolie about daughter’s reaction to the birth of the new baby. " I can see it now … those girls are gonna be at each other’s throats by age 5. I, for one, am putting my money on Zahara … she looks like she can whip some ass” pinkisthenewblog
"This is a rumor that comes around every month. It has for past year or two. Believe me on this one. She is religious, and that would never do." Nicole Kidman’s publicist on those pregnancy rumours. Stay tuned.
“Stanley, can you please stay away from my tits?’ Actress Ann Hathaway on set of The Devil wears Prada.
“ What do you expect, you’re flinging those melons around like it’s harvest season’” Stanley Tucci reply
"This is a cause that Pamela is passionate about” says Pamela Anderson’s PR on her stripping off naked in the window of Stella McCartney’s London boutique in an anti-fur demonstration. Oh dear. Harvest season. Time for a drink

3 best cheap but chics of the week

Sometimes life can get scary. For all those girls who need a nerve Cliquot before they go into Prada. Or when they open their Amex bill. Here’s the inside scoop on the 3 best cheap but chics of the week. Head to for their ever so chic black or stone cotton double breasted trench coat $149, hop over to for the fabulous red, stacked platform, slingback, peep toe heels a la Lanvin $109 and then stroll (you will have to in those heels) to for the groovy, oversized, black, round Jackie O sungasses for just only $9. Then sit down, relax, take a deep breath and think about finding the nerve to admit to your accountant about your other purchase: Your Prada black dress. (Well you need something to wear under the trench.)

Aludean Hotbox

I love winter. You can finally wera all those fabulous Max Mara winter coats, those Jimmy Choo long boots, those Missoni scarves and that divine Russian fur hat you bought in St Petersburg. Then it gets too cold to go outside. Here’s a solution. The very snazzy designer Hot Box. It’s a groovy looking square Brazier on a funky concrete block that sits on your terrace or balcony and is so much chicer than anything else I have seen. Designed by those groovematics Aludean who design ‘minimalist, meditive pieces with architectural proportions that draw the viewer into quiet comtemplation” . I tried the quiet comtemplation. Didn’t work. But I was warm and groovy. (which equals Cool).

Bloom Cheeky Lips

Sometimes I daydream of things that can do double duty. Like Men who can cook and clean up. Shoes that look fabulous that you can run in. Food that is creamy but not fattening. Or Ikea instructions that actually put the furniture together. Then there is makeup that only can only do one thing at a time. Except the sensational Bloom Cheeky Lips - one end is Lip Gloss – a new shade of luminous, pearly pink and the other end is Cheek Colour Shy – a feminine pink tint that gives a girly glow. It’s small so you can toss it into your Gucci clutch at night and travel light. The best colour is L’Amour. FiFi L’Amour does double duty.

$25 Cheeky Lips.

An international crowd gathered in Venice to pay tribute to Guy Bourdin and celebrate the launch of a two-volume book by the late photographer’s muse Nicolle Meyer, "Guy Bourdin, a Message for You." Luxury skin care brand La Mer sponsored the cocktail soiree at the Peggy Guggenheim Collection and a candlelit dinner followed on a terrace overlooking the Grand Canal. Alber Elbaz, who wrote the forward of the book, gushed over the late photographer. "He was a great storyteller, poetic and strong," said Elbaz. "Each photo seems like a movie scene." Wwd

‘Juicy Couture’s first Manhattan store is all about a sense of humor. There is the seriousness of the dark wood floors and the dark gray and deep purple painted walls, but that’s about all that’s low-key. In true Juicy Couture form, there are plenty of kitschy T-shirts with sayings like “My dog is cuter than your dog” and “Go Couture Yourself.” WWD.

Heat : An Amateur’s Adventures as Kitchen Slave, Line Cook, Pasta-Maker, and Apprentice to a Dante-Quoting Butcher in Tuscany ….by Bill Buford
This book is now 12th on Amazon (The Kite Runner is 11th) and I like this review.” I don’t go to restaurants. I don’t watch FOOD Channel. I don’t even order take-out. So why was I reading this book? My lunch partner was reading this weirdly yellow hardback and slowly choking on his burrito as he chuckled through Page 230 where the author had become a walking grease fire.I was plastered to this book for the next week and a half. Bill Buford started his quest to understand what goes on in the professional kitchen in Mario Batali’s restaurant, Babbo, as an unpaid servant. His world is never the same again. Read this book. Even if you’re not a foodie. Even if your idea of fine dining is a tin of sardines on instant rice. You’ll love every minute of it. 5 Stars Plus Plus Plus!

Caramelized Onion and Potato Frittata

Caramelized Onion and Potato Frittata ….from Marie Claire Food
The perfect little je ne sais quoi to cook for a brunch on a cold Sunday morning. But please don’t be afraid of using lots of naughty but nice cream and eggs. Pretend you are Nigella. Laze back and just enjoy it all with lashings of butter on your toast. Then go outside and you will just burn up calories trying to keep warm (and running around the sales).

You need:
1 tabs butter
1 tabs
oil
3 red onions
8 eggs
¾ cup of cream
½ cup grated parmesan
1 tab athyme leaves
1 zucchini
about 6 small potatos

·Place all that delicious fattening butter and oil in fry pan
·Put on new Tom Ford snazzy sunglasses and lashings of waterproof mascara
·Time to chop up the onions. If you are PMT just cry anyway and then blame the onions.
·Peel those zucchini into cute little thin strips almost as the size of Nicole Ritchie. Almost.
·Boil the potatoes and let them cool down.
·Wipe away tears and reapply lipgloss
·Strip off the thyme leaves
·Grate the parmesan too. Watch that manicure.
·Crack open the 8 eggs into a bowl and pour the naughty cream in with them
·Throw the onions into frypan and sprinkle with salt to stop burning
·Pop on the lid so they soften and cook.
·Whisk the eggs and cream. ( burn off a few calories)
·Add dash of pepper
·Toss the potatoes and zucchini into the egg mix and mix the egg mix till it’s mixed.
·Pour in the egg mix into frypan on top of onions
·Sprinkle it with thyme leaves and the grated parmesan
·And watch it cook on a lowish heat till it’s nearly cooked all the way through
·No, don’t touch the wine until its 12 midday.
·When it’s nearly cooked you can whack it under the grill to toast it a bit
·Delicious if it’s left a bit gooey.
·Serve with roasted tomatoes and rocket and home made soda bread .
·And a nice wine. Hic.

Colour Me Kubrick ….directed by Brian Cook ( assistant director on Kubrick’s BARRY LYNDON, THE SHINING and EYES WIDE SHUT) and written by Anthony Frewin who was Kubrick’s research assistant on several projects,
Who: John Malkovich
The Plot: Based on a true..ish story. Mad, naughty, gay, alcoholic, prankster impersonates reclusive film director Stanley Kubrick. Gets up to mischief duping everyone. Picks up boys in bars. Socialites in restaurants. Rock stars at concerts. Promises stardom to camp singers in Las Vegas. Watch the con man with amazement.
Acting: John Malcovich is sensational, David Stratten says “a bravura performance of John Malkovich who has often tackled bizarre roles but never to the extent that he does here”
Set design: so groovy, so camp “Kubrick buffs will also relish the numerous references to the director; music from BARRY LYNDON, a character dressed like the ones in A CLOCKWORK ORANGE, a group of characters who all claim to be Kubrick, just as the slaves in SPARTACUS all claimed to be Spartacus. There are amusing appearances from veteran comedian Leslie Phillips and another rather eccentric director, Ken Russell.” David Stratten
Salon de Beaute: it’s almost the Rocky Horror Picture Show.
Wardrobe: The styling of Malcovich is outrageously fabulous. Think high waisted stripe pajamas pants with the string belt worn with a kooky floral shirt, dingle dangle plastic bracelets and a crazy hat, pink socks, and a trench coat. He wears an hot pink eye mask to bed that’s has “ Tease Me” written across the front. Variety.com says "Malkovich goes beyond gay to the extremes of feyness. He uses a two-fingered handshake and dresses in queenly, pastel-coloured confections made up of tight little shirts and jackets and strange trousers, heavily accessorised with belts, umbrellas and scarves. If the job warrants it, he adopts sober colours, while dropping his voice and adjusting his accent. He only ever looks like himself, running amok in the wardrobe department”
Mind drifted to shopping …only when I saw the shoes and accessories
Botox: Obviously Malkovich has not had any ‘work’. Bless.
Waterproof mascara: Lashings of Max Factor Aqua lash is what you need.
Smooches: Not really. Why would you want to with him?
Blood’n’guts: The sight of Malkovich’s nude body is just as gruesome
Car Chases: No car chases but the con man is always trying to escape the truth.
Moral to the story: They wanted something for nothing. He gave them nothing for something.
Best line: You are Mr. Stanley Cutedick?
Best review: “it’s hard to imagine any serious film buff taking a pass on such a sly, enormously entertaining romp”
Best worst review: MARGARET: He makes me squirm. DAVID: He’s meant to.
See it or donate to the Prada bag fund: See it and know where Muiccia found her inspiration for her next collection.
