There I was looking like an international cosmopolitan sauntering around the DFS store in the Rocks working hard shopping (checking out Coach, le Sport sac, Dior and Givenchy) when I saw THE item du jour for summer. Oo la la Fabulous Dior head scarves in the most divine colours and prints. Pink and red and oranges! Silk and chiffon and cotton. A gorgeous selection and all available at retail for the non-travelers such as you good selves: $99 a cotton one and $159 for silk. Perfect to razz up the jeans and white singlet for summer without actually resorting to wearing colour. If you don’t wear it around your head tied the back Babe Paley style just tie it to your Hermes bag!

Nivea Lipstick

The natural no lipstick look IS THE look of the season but as if we all want to do that! Are you kidding?? Me without lipstick is like Gucci without Tom Ford it doesn’t happen? mmm… Anyway everyone knows that nothing takes more effort than the appearance of effortlessness. And it will take no effort to swipe the little Nivea lip across your sexy lips for a petit touch of moisture and a hint of colour Go from drab to fab! Cool in pearly shimmer.

Prosciutto, Lemon Thyme and Goats Cheese Pizza

The cast of thousands are coming over for dinner and you’ve been out shopping all day and don’t have a minute to slave over your makeup let alone the hot stove. Ne panickez pas whip up this pizza and you’ll have hours to do hair and makeup! (It takes about 10 or 15 minutes of chopping)

Prosciutto, Lemon Thyme and Goats Cheese Pizza
Don’t be afraid and groan and say, “as if I’m making pizza dough” .The trick is you don’t!! Instead use Pita bread or mountain bread or even Indian Chapatti. Anything with a thin crust to use as the base. Use one per person

To make the best pizza tomato sauce
*Chop some garlic very finely and throw into a glass
*Mix with a tablespoon or 2 of tomato paste
*Add some olive oil
*Pour in some wine (and one for yourself)
*Mix with a teaspoon so it’s got a good consistency to spread over the pizza bases
*Preheat heat the oven to hot

Topping (for 4 pizzas)
6 to 10 slices ices of Prosciutto
Punnet of baby tomatoes cut in half
1 Red capsicum cut into strips
1 onion roughly chopped
A handful of lemon Thyme
½ packet of Goats cheese feta
Anything else that takes your fancy like olives

To make
* Cut out some foil longer than the size of the pizza and put in a baking tray
* Drizzle with oil and pop the Pita bread/mountain bread on top (it makes it easier to chuck it straight in the oven if you do this now)
*Spread the tomato paste all over the base of the Pita bread to cover it
*Scatter the roughly chopped onion on top
*Throw on the Proscuitto on top to cover it
*Chop up goat’s cheese and crumble it over the pizza
*Scatter the chopped tomatoes around (preferably on the pizza)
* Ditto the Thyme
* Drizzle a bit of olive oil over it
* Lots of salt and pepper

Pop in the oven
Beware!! They cook really quickly. Basically just wait for the cheese to melt an the base to get a bit golden and bobs your uncle
Delicioso!!

(Another topping is mozzarella, tomato, basil, mushrooms, and capsicum….)

SeaBiscuit
We race to Fox studios, throw down a white wine and run up to the cinema and nearly have a conniption: they’ve brought out the red carpet (I told them not to make a fuss!) So yes we walked the red carpet except it was across instead of along ( It was the opening of The school of Rock with Jack Black) and Seabiscuit? I loved the book and I love love loved the movie. Toby Maguire stars and executively produced this movie, a true story about the famous racehorse in the depression. A wonderful story about never giving up (I know the feeling: shop till I drop) about having heart and soul about 3 guys who believed in the underdog of a horse (who loved to have his photo taken and adored the red carpet..true) Take tissues, waterproof mascara and sunglasses (to face the paparazzi on the way out)…
