The big news is Britney and Kevin’s new reality TV show Chaotic. First up is this great insight from Hollywood repoter.com…
“ Where can I apply to have this hour of my life back? This UPN “show” has pop tart Britney Spears and hubby Kevin Federline turning on a camera, pointing it in a mirror and recording their innermost thoughts. Unfortunately, they have a primetime forum in which to present their featherweight journey into self-indulgence. The Spears-Federline union doesn’t appear in the premiere to be a relationship so much as a two-person kegger that’s destined to wind up in a painful hangover. Spears comes across like a party-hearty college girl with her shaky-cam, finger-up-her-nose, close-up-of-her-pores, leering video snippets.”Chaotic” includes Spears cooing about the lovemaking (”Our sex is so good. … Ecstasy, ecstasy, ecstasy, ecstasy”) and suggesting to her new man, “Let’s just (bleep) all day.” He: “You know I’m down for that idea.” Ah, romance. It ‘s like watching an installment of “Lifestyles of the Rich and Clueless.
“ I think I’ll always have a weight problem. I see my imperfections, I see my flaws, I just don’t care. I walk out of my house in my pyjamas, with no make-up on and I just don’t care because that’s how I feel more comfortable. If you want me to wear a fancy dress to go to Starbucks, then you are completely wrong. After I got married I was one of those people who let themselves go a little bit.” Aint that the truth!
“Love is love”. Kevin ( money is money)
”I don’t believe in marriage”. Kevin: (just a prenup?)
”Let’s just f**k all day”. Britney:
” I think Pink is really cool’ Britney ( nuf said)
“ My mom and I are going to start talking about ideas this week for the baby’s room. I’ve also been thinking of different ideas for the prayer and meditation room” Britney on her renovations ( she nees to meditate and medicate)
“Oops… I did it again”. On nappies given to Britney by Ellen Degeneres
“I’m not Britney Spears,” on her baseball cap
“I’m not Kevin Federline.” On her baseball cap
“I’m not their baby.” for the baby ( oh how true that will be ….)

Chloe bag

Every season there is an ‘it’ bag. This season if you haven’t guessed it’s a Chloe bag. Big and textured this is definitely not a blinged out statement bag but a bag that looks a bit vintage, like a beaten up leather heirloom. Perfect to go with all the hippy boho luxe looks you’ve been wearing. So rush into David Jones for the must have Silverado bag with studs for around $3000 (approx) or just buy the copy from Witchery for $169. Perhaps you want the ‘Paddington‘ bag in tan with brass hardware and lock from http://www.net-a-porter.com for £759.00 or just go to Giallo (http://www.giallo.com.au/stores.htm) for another version in blue, black or khaki for $169. Which for some reason is cheaper than the exact same bag in seen in Cue for $269. Which mean it must be the copy of the copy of the copy. Who cares! It’s an ‘it’ bag!

Stephane Marais Liquid Lip Colour

I think there is only one reason I am obsessed with lipstick: I am about to give up on wrinkle creams. Nuf said. But a girl needs to get her beauty hit one way or another and so this week I am back trying out a new lip colour. This week it’s the Stephane Marais Liquid Lip Colour. Don’t die of shock; it’s not a lip gloss. Mais non! This is a velvet, matte, lip stain that seems to stay on. No, really. You need it in the colour ‘rouge envoutant’; it’s a very subtle and natural pale pink. Even better it has macadamia nut oil which means “your lips are hydrated and air-kiss ready.” Mais oui. The packaging is fabulous and check out his ….a work in progress in psychedelic.

$52.00 Stephane Marais Liquid Lip Colour from .

The Glass Castle: A Memoir by Jeannette Walls
Everyone is talking about this memoir by Jeannette Walls ‘who actually spends most of her time digging up dirt on other people’s lives. As the gossip columnist for MSNBC.com, Walls tracks down the latest rumours about Britney Spears’ Michael Jackson and the latest target on the PETA hit list. But in the opening pages of “The Glass Castle,” Walls recalls watching someone else do a little digging — her mother, searching through a garbage dumpster in lower Manhattan. Walls wastes little time unveiling the dichotomy that is her life — a high-profile Park Avenue reporter with an unconventional and often tragic past. You are enrapt reading about Walls and her siblings rifling through trash cans at school looking for food, doing the skedaddle in the middle of the night, or waiting for Dad to come home after another bender. It’s a riveting story’

1 stalk of lemon grass
2 green chillies
1 tab grated ginger
1 1/2 tab of tamarind concentrate
Juice of 1 lime
2-teasp brown sugar
Bunch of bok choy or broccolini
Bunch of beans if you like too
Serve with steamed rice

·Finely slice the lemongrass and the chillies into the size of Nicole Ritchie …tiny
·Then grate the ginger and cut up the chicken into strips as thin as Lindsay Lohan
·Better chop the bok choy
·Get the rice cooking because it can always sit there having a rest while you cook the chicken.
·Time for a wine in one hand and wok in the other
·Ok now you may proceed
·Heat some oil in a wok and then stir fry the chicken
·Remove the chicken from the wok and then add more oil with the lemon grass, the ginger, the chilli, and give that a good old stir fry till it’s cooked and smells fragrant and delicious, say about 3 minutes
·Whack the chicken pieces back and add the tamaraind, lime juice, sugar and beans and bok choy give that a whirl around too.
·Smell it and you know it’s ready, but don’t let those vegetables get too soft.
·Serve it up on a bed of steamed rice
Now how good is that? Slimming and delicious (tell that to Nicole and Lindsay, bless)

Issue 85

The Upside of Anger:
The Plot: Thinner than any of the Olsen twins this is a dumb, wet, seriously badly directed and acted movie. So why is everyone is raving about it? Joan Allen plays an awful, mean, angry mother who has taken to the drink since husband has left her. (so what’s new?). You can see why he left. Her 4 daughters are just the same. Kevin Costner is the shonky honky next door neighbor who is so stupid he makes Jessica Simpson look like a brain surgeon. For some reason they get it together. It’s like ‘American Beauty’s third, lost, try hard cousin once removed..
Who: Joan Allen and Kevin Costner
Acting: Joan Allen has no comedic timing. (I should know), Kevin Costner is asleep.
Interiors: a shockingly huge suburban American house (no style, no taste )
Arty angles: tries to be American Beauty but fails..
Designer Inspiration: Neighbours
Salon de Beaute: nil rating
Blood’n’ guts: Give me the gun to kill them all
Car chases: would have made it more exciting
Smooches: yuk
Smokin’ smooches: I feel ill thinking about it
Botox; Yes please! Any injection is preferable to seeing this. You need a full on shot to stop the cringing.
When Harry met Sally romance Richter scale: minus 20
See it or donate to the Prada bag fund? It’s a 3 bag film! Buy a Prada, Gucci and Chloe bag. This movie makes Dumber and Dumber look like a masterpiece.
Rename it: the Downside of Happiness

UK Vogue June:
With our Cate Blanchett on the cover looking stunning: she ‘wows in the couture”. Read the interview inside about winning the Oscar (her son calls it ‘ the Gold Guy”) and her next movie ‘Babel’ with Brad Pitt and Gael Garcia Bernal. Poor thing. In the fashion section see Australian Voguette Robin Holt’s advice for dressing in Russia and Gabrielle Hackworthy for London. There’s an interview with Nick Hornby and his latest book ‘A long way down’ then read about kooky Jane Fonda “ she is so candid as to be scary” and her new book ‘My life so far’. Good reading, boring fashion.
W Magazine May:
Natalie Portman is looking very beautiful on the cover, taken before she has her head shaved for her new movie ‘V for violence’ by Joel Silver ( set in an alternative future in London after WW2, the UK is taken over by Germany). She is living in Jerusalem and is one brainy chick studying the anthropology of violence. She is worried about terrorists, will go to night clubs but won’t travel on a bus (who does darling?). She says being “at the Oscars is not so glamorous, it’s in a shopping Mall and you go up escalators” What?! Read about Ashton Kutcher and how he was shocked to hear he has been awarded worst actor of the year at the Razzies. (We weren’t). He doesn’t like going to Hollywood events because “ I always feel like the butler who got the ticket” (you are). Read all about the elite Corviglias club in St Moritz, Tory Burch at the opening of the Faena Hotel and universe in Buenos Aires ( FiFi Report #79) and in the fashion pages? Black is back as fashion undergoes a seismic shift !
Travel & Leisure May:
It’s the Europe issue and a great read: Read about Chanel and do her a tour around Paris (see zip zip), find out about a book tour through Wales and Scotland, there’s a fab story and photos of Nice and groovy places to go ( skip the pebbly beaches). Read about architectural driving tours through central Europe including France ( from Paris to Monaco) . Oh and I’m off to Majorca, it looks so cool and so do the hotels
