“I’m not going to name names because that’s not fair, but we all are. I just want to let people know that if you think any of these blonde bombshells aren’t drug addicts, trust me, they are, because I’ve done drugs with them,” Kelly Osbourne on Young Hollywood (but Kelly didn’t your mum tell you: just because everyone does it doesn’t make it right.?).
“ When I’m around people who have bad energy, I usually carry some water and I just kind of, like, put it on myself. It’s not like a holy water, just something to cleanse myself if someone’s really negative. And I carry around crystals too. I feel it’s important to protect yourself.” Kate Hudson likes to protect herself from Kelly Osbourne
“I think I have a disease, actually. I always fire housekeepers. I like everything clean. You can actually eat off the floor of my house, that’s how clean my floors are. “ Giselle Bunchen is addicted to cleaning (A model eats? She stays slim by eating off the floor).
“ When we go my kids always say, ‘Aren’t you hungry, Mommy? And I look at the fries and think it’s just not worth it. “ Cindy Crawford is a mutation of the species.
“I didn’t have a butt double, I promise, that’s my butt. I worked hard for it.” Jessica Simpson does not have a double butt or half a brain
“If you have a woman like that, it makes your job very easy; You have all this blowing up, blah-blah-blah. Then, when you go into the office, oh my God, it’s fantastic. You know what I mean?” Flavio Briatore is addicted to supermodels which makes him want to escape to the office for some peace.
“He has a sensitivity chip that’s missing” Jennifer Aniston does not realize that Brad Pitt thinks with his biggest organ
“ I’m living my youth late so I enjoy the innocence of a great make-out. I’ve had that battered VW van for years. I think it’s sexy and hot to get to grips with a guy in my passion wagon.” Teri Hatcher is addicted to her shaggon wagon (and has a new self-help book, Burnt Toast, offering fans advice and inspiration…)
“ Am I lonely? Yes. Am I upset? Yes. Am I confused? Yes. Do I have my days when I’ve thrown a little pity party for myself? Absolutely..” Jennifer Aniston holds a self-pity party (try reading Burnt Toast instead).
“When you talk about a great actor, you’re not talking about Tom Cruise.” Lauren Bacall knows an Alien when she see one.

Moleskine Notebooks

My oversized handbag is filled with so much stuff it weighs a ton. And If I swap arms regularly I get a lovely even workout on both arms. But now it’s time to go a bit lighter on the weights so I was thrilled to find fabulous Moleskine notebooks are now available in a skinny size and in a pack of 3. The perfect size to throw in the Balenciaga they are covered in an elegant, simple, natural coloured cardboard (with chic stitching on the spine) which means they are easy to find in the big black hole.

Neco hardware shop

All this gorgeous sunny, warm weather is making it increasingly difficult to throw on all your fabulous winter clothes. Climate change is really getting to me. So it’s time to do something and contradict all the outrageous consumption and non-stop shopping that is the mantra here at FiFi HQ. It’s time to not just recycle my clothes and wear vintage YSL it’s also time to head to The Neco hardware shop. Energy saving is the item du jour and Neco Hardware is a store that specializes in high quality energy efficient products. Find Light globes for your chandelier that last 10 times longer and use 80% less energy $16, all Natural Laundry Liquid Concentrate, certified biodegradable nappy bags and even toys. Also you can have a home energy assessment for $149 (just hide all those shoes and bags) and to save even more energy you can now sit on your fat bum and simply go to the website and order online. http://www.neco.com.au

Schick Quattro Razor for Women

The only hairy monster I ever want to see is one behind bars in a zoo. Not looking back at me in the mirror. So if you are not able to get to the beauty salon and want gorgeous smooth and soft legs I suggest you try the best razor I have ever used. The Schick Quattro for women. It has a conditioning stripe with Aloe and Vitamin E and 4 clever blades with a pivoting head but ewww! Why do they have to make these things in tacky pink? How about snazzy silver or white? I don’t want any pink in the bathroom but I have relented because this cool razor also comes with a suction cap holder so it can sit on the shower wall waiting to be used. Bless.

$11.99 The Schick Quattro for women from major department stores.

The Clumsiest People in Europe: Or, Mrs. Mortimer’s Bad-Tempered Guide to the Victorian World by Todd Pruzan
William Norwich in the August issue of US Vogue recommended this book and it has had rave reviews (see below). “ No matter who your ancestors were, and where they had the misfortune of living, Victorian children’s book writer Mrs. Favell Lee Mortimer had something nasty to say about them. From describing Europe (”It is dreadful to think what a number of murders are committed in Italy”) or Asia (”The religion of Taou teaches men to act like madmen”), all of these assertions come from a woman who only twice set foot outside of her native England.. Mrs. Mortimer’s views are consistently appalling. One hundred fifty years later, three of her very forgotten classics have been compiled into one volume, The Clumsiest People in Europe, reviving the comically misinformed and startling prejudices of this unique Victorian eccentric.
“Sick yet fun little volume…with a sour-faced alacrity that wouldn’t seem out of place in the Bush administration.”New York Times Book Review.
“…Wonderfully odious, travel-based misanthropy…by turns unsetteling and hilarious…Here, at last, is irritable-bowel-syndrome-as-travelogue.”

Yogurt Cake from Claudia Roden

Yogurt Cake from Claudia Roden ( in the latest Vogue Entertaining and Travel)
Need to whip up a delicious Sunday afternoon tea but don’t want to spend hours in the kitchen? (Not when you could be reading cooking magazines instead). This lovely lemony cake is a cinch to make and is very similar to a cheesecake but a little lighter and cuter…now start pouring the tea…

For 6
4 large eggs separated
100g caster sugar
3 tabs plain flour
400g Greek Yogurt (or any creamyYogurt)
grated zest of I lemon and the juice

·Preheat the oven to 180.
·Zest the lemon and juice it too.
·In a bowl beat the egg yolks with the sugar so it’s just so lovely and a thick pale cream.
·Beat in the flour, (it loves it).
·Then beat the yogurt (stop it, I like it)
·Then beat in the lemon zest and juice
· Whisk the egg whites until stiff and fold them into the yogurt mixture
·God, that was hard non?
·Make sure it’s all mixed awfully well and then
·Pour into a baking tin (moisturized of course).
·Bake for about 50 minutes or until the top is a lovely brown and looking quite gorgeous.
·The cake does puff up a bit like Pamela Anderson but don’t be worried it will deflate again like Ashley Olsen when it’s cooled
Serve it with icing sugar sprinkled over it looking chic and with outrageous naughty cream or yogurt

Issue 96

The Miracle Of Bern by Director: Sönke Wortmann (German with subtitles)
The Plot: Grumpy old Man returns home to his family in Germany 10 years after the being a POW in WW2 to find he had a son he never knew about (who is obsessed with soccer) and a teenager who is into naughty things like rock n roll and Jazz. But hey! Don’t let the idea of a film in German about football set in unglamourous postwar Germany put you off. It’s a very sweet story revolving around the world championship soccer match and lets face it, who would know anything about that?
Who: Never mind, you will never have heard of them anyway.
Acting: Excellent. The young boy is the cutest, sweetest thing. Bless.
Interiors: The sets are amazing; the furniture from the 50’s looks so cool.
Designer inspiration: Shot in the old fashioned colours of a 1950’s postcard, it’s awfully lovely to look at and so very Marni Spring summer 04.
Blood’n’ guts: No blood but ouch! The grumpy old man gives a real belting (and it’s not a Gucci one either).
Car chases: With all the testosterone flying around in the soccer match it’s amazing there isn’t one car chase (but cars didn’t go fast enough in post war Germany).
Smooches: it’s a soccer movie…
Best line: ‘Women and soccer don’t mix’
Waterproof mascara? I’m recommending the Chanel one, it should deal very well with the cute ending and the wet eyes.
Best review: ’ I’m giving it 4”. David Stratton
Tom Cruise/Alien sighting? No, but the grumpy old man could do with some Prozac, sorry vitamins, to get over his depression.
Botox: Could have done with an injection of something to give to the baby crying next to us in the cinema (Oh my god! it’s true).
When Harry met Sally romance Richter scale: This movie gets a rating on the schmaltz-o-meter (it’s a German word after all).
See it or donate to the Prada bag/save Katie fund? This film is as soft, sweet and retro as a rose print Prada dress; you’ll feel so feminine watching all the macho boys playing Soccer you’ll forget that black is back for at least 2 hours. Hint: the name of the movie spoils what happens in the end…
