The FiFi Report 105

issue 105

“You would think people had never seen a boob before. I’ve never seen anything like it! You would think my boob had popped out and shot Gandhi! From the way people reacted I thought I’d got it out and choked someone to death with it.” Tara Reid on her boobgate. ( Shot Gandi? Choke her now.)
“People think I am just a party girl, and it’s bull. I didn’t want to look like a total party-girl drug retard. I’m not a drunk… I don’t have a drinking problem. I don’t have a drug problem” Tara Reid is a drug and alcohol ‘retard’.
“My hooters are under control! I’m taped up now, totally. I’m using double tape. Double double tape. My boobs are going nowhere ever again.” Tara Reid sure has a drug/alcohol problem (who would say that sober?) .
“ I had very big boobs at a young age… I was made to feel guilty about my body, Now people are buying the boobs I have.” Jessica Simpson.
“I love being a woman, and I love having tits,” Charlize Theron ( she bought Jessica’s).
“I suppose as long as the rumors of Jessica and Nick splitting aren’t true, everything will be fine. As Papa Joe would say, “Jessica’s got breasts! Big ones! Everyone, cop a feel!” Yeah, I know that nobody mentioned Jessica’s breasts, but that doesn’t change the fact that that’s what he’d say” The superficial.com
“I’m still young and still have a very active career that I’m not prepared to give up,” Paris Hilton
“very active career? I can only imagine it involves a lot of sex with strangers and possible taping of sex with strangers. Because last I checked, showing up at events and occasionally posing half naked in men’s magazines doesn’t really qualify as an active career” the superficial.com on Paris.
“ The only drugs I had on me were prescription drugs in my implant, but it had gone septic and it’s spewing them out.” Pete Doherty unbuttoning his trousers to show photographers the implant in his abdomen after his was arrested. eeww.
“It’s libellous to call me a smackhead – it’s a good job I am too disorganised to sue.” Pete Doherty, too much of a smack head to know he’s a smack head.
“This is Renée Zellweger, I’m in the lobby, and I wonder if you could come down because I want to talk to you.” To Page Six office in New York
“I just wanted to tell you that story was hurtful about me being with another man, it wasn’t true, and it made me look slutty.” Renee to Page Six gossip columnist ( Renee; with Tara Reid, Jessica Simpson and Paris around you will never look slutty).

Just Jeans Dark Grey Square Sunglasses

It’s true; the bigger the sunglasses, the skinnier the celebrity. So I think I just lost a couple of kilos. You see I tossed on my new, sensational, oversized, dark, grey square sunglasses and, as I ran out the door past the mirror, I’m sure I looked like a Skeletwin (Nicole or Lindsay). Everyone must have a pair of these fabulous sunglasses from Just Jeans. You’ll love the subtle Chanel style quilting on the arm and you’ll love the price. Trouble is you have to take them off. It’s hard to shop in the dark.

$29 Dark Grey Square Sunglasses from Just Jeans.

Chanel 2.55 vintage bag

An item du jour is not for everyone. The whole idea of it being an item du jour means it’s only for the inner sanctum. If everyone had it, it wouldn’t be an item du jour. It would be an item du last season. An item du yesterday. Which brings me to the absolutely divine new Chanel 2.55 vintage bag. It’s du jour and du tomorrow. It’s the bag everyone is talking about. In aged quilted black leather it has that made-to-look-vintage finish. It has a divine dull silver chain strap and was ‘inspired by the original diamond-quilted, chain-strung handbag with its logo-free turn clasp and secret pocket for love letters, which Coco named after its February 1955 creation date (hence, the 2.55)’. It’s all we ever need or want. Du forever.

Revlon Really Rosy Nail Polish

Life is all about the shoe (always singular) and this season it’s all about toe cleavage. So revealing. Your feet and toes must look fabulous. No chipped toenails, or daggy nail polish. Which is why I just adore the Revlon Really Rosy nail polish. It’s not bright red and god forbid it’s not pink or watermelon either. I’m thinking it’s a dusty rose. It looks pretty, stays on for weeks and doesn’t seem to chip either. Don’t we all love roses when we show a bit of cleavage?

$19 Revlon Nail Polish from major department store.

Truman Capote, is hot, hot, hot. ‘What with Philip Seymour Hoffman’s wonderful portrayal of Tru in the just-released film “Capote.” Still another biographical film, “Have You Heard” — with Toby Jones as Capote and a cast that includes Sandra Bullock as Harper Lee, Gwyneth Paltrow as Peggy Lee, Sigourney Weaver as Babe Paley, Isabella Rossellini as Gloria Guinness and Hope Davis as Slim Keith — is filming in Texas and New York at the moment.’ wwd
Random House has announced that Truman’s first novel, “Summer Crossing,” long lost will be published later this month.
Andrea Levy’s novel, Small Island, has been declared the best ever winner of Britain’s Orange Prize for Fiction. The Best of the Best contest pitted the 10 winners of the women-only award against one another.

Richard Avedon’s groundbreaking portrait exhibit, “In the American West,” was both vilified and praised when it opened 20 years ago at the Amon Carter Museum in Fort worth, Texax. A critic for the Fort Worth Star-Telegram derided the black-and-white photos of small-town working people and drifters as “perverse,” and visitors complained that the photo subjects appeared to be “low class” and “ugly.” Now, a year after Avedon’s death, the museum again has mounted the landmark exhibit, displaying 78 of the 124 images. wwd.
In Paris after the fashion shows head over to a Dior retrospective chez Didier Ludot, the vintage guru store in Palais Royale. Then check out Book publisher Assouline’s new plush flagship just opened with a ‘stock of all their fabulous 500-plus titles along with oodles of luxury accoutrements, from library-scented candles to $11,500 Goyard trunks custom-made for tomes. Next door to Christian Dior at 35 Rue Bonaparte, it has leather walls, natural lighting and a lounge area where customers can sit and have an espresso or a glass of champagne’. wwd http://www.assouline.com/
Then check the exhibitions on in Paris: “Vienna 1900″ is at the Grand Palais — sponsored by LVMH Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton — and draws on works from Gustav Klimt and Egon Schiele. The Musée d’Orsay has a revealing exhibit of late 19th-century Russian art. And the Centre Pompidou is reassessing the Dadaists — sponsored by Yves Saint Laurent — with a major show. Or check out photography from Karl Lagerfeld, Jeff Koons and Allen Ginsberg at the “La Photographie En Parallèle” exhibition at the Maison Européenne de la Photographie.
‘The crew that turned Le Baron into Paris’ grooviest bar, attracting the likes of Sofia Coppola and Jarvis Cocker, has a new hot spot — Paris Paris, a former basement cabaret club. (No, it’s not named after Paris Hilton and her ex.) Paul Sevigny (Chlöe’s brother) and his band, ARE Weapon, will perform all fashion week long Paris Paris, 5 Avenue de l’Opera, 750. Cool

Nothing Serious by Justine Levy, Charlotte Mandell (Translator)
This book was a huge best seller in France for obvious reasons. The daughter of famous French philosopher Bernard-Henri Lévy, Justine was famous even before her husband left her for supermodel Carla Bruni. Then the shit hit the fan so she wrote a book based on the whole affair. Nothing serious is about “ Louise whose husband, Adrien, leaves her for his father’s lover, Paula, a surgically enhanced model. A delicious cynicism creeps onto every page as Louise recounts her dysfunctional marriage, her addiction to amphetamines and battles with low self-esteem. Lévy’s memorable if neurotic protagonist proves loveable” Perfect

The Christmas List
Jed Johnson : Opulent Restraint (Hardcover)
by Jay Johnson, Paul Goldberger (Contributor), Bob Colacello (Contributor).
Jed Johnson: Opulent Restraint is the first book to chronicle the fascinating career, work and times of an interior design superstar whose life was cut short in 1996 by the disastrous explosion of TWA Flight 800. From humble beginnings in Minnesota, Johnson rose to prominence in 1970’s New York, via the Warhol Factory, to the highest echelons of the rarified world of design and decoration. His impressive celebrity client list included Pierre Bergé, Mick Jagger and Jerry Hall, Richard Gere, and Barbara Streisand. A must have book for every interior design office and for those interested in the fascinating Warhol years in New York.” Fabulous!

Buttermilk Pancakes With Crushed Strawberries And Yoghurt ….

Buttermilk Pancakes With Crushed Strawberries And Yoghurt …. from Bill’s.
A perfect little je ne sais quoi to whip up for a spring Sunday Brunch. This is a serious crowd pleaser and quite simply sensational. Just don’t think about throwing on a bikini for at least a couple of hours ….

For about 6 you need:

2 cups plain flour
3 teaspoons baking powder
1 pinch salt
2 tablespoons sugar
2 eggs, lightly beaten
3 cups buttermilk
75g unsalted butter, melted
unsalted butter, for moisturizing
For serving:
1 punnet strawberries/raspberries or ½ packet of frozen ones (thawed!)
2 tablespoons icing sugar, sifted
Rich creamy Yogurt to serve

·Put on the coffee for a caffeine hit before you start cooking.
·Then apply lashings of Crème de la Mer to get a beauty hit
·It’s best make the crushed strawberries first so
·Pop half the raspberries in a glass bowl and crush with a fork. Stir in the icing sugar and taste to see if it’s sweet enough. Toss in the remaining raspberries and mix and chuck in the fridge till serving time
·Now for the pancakes: throw the flour, baking powder, salt and sugar in bowl.
·Stir to combine it all
·Melt the butter.
·Beat the eggs
·Add eggs, buttermilk and melted butter.
·Whisk to combine. Don’t worry about lumps at this stage. (a bit like your thighs )
·Melt some butter in a non-stick pan over medium heat.
·Then ladle about four tablespoons of batter into pan for each pancake
·Smells great non? Cook for around two minutes until bubbles appear on surface of pancake. (A bit like cellulite, you’ll recognize it when it appears).
·Then turn the pancake over and cook the other side for around one minute (it’s like sun baking). Repeat
·As you cook throw the pancakes to a warmed plate
·Now here’s the crowd pleaser bit:
·To serve, stack pancakes with the crushed raspberries and yoghurt. So add a pancake, top with some berries, a little yogurt and repeat. What a stack!
·Top with a drizzle of more yogurt and raspberries
Sensational!

Cinderella Man ……directed Ron Howard
Who: Russell Crowe, Renée Zellweger, Paul Giamatti
The Plot: A boxer becomes a champion boxer then retires as a boxer then gets another chance of being a boxer and then boxes and boxes and tries to win the boxing championship again. He spends alot of time boxing. Then boxes a bit more. Boxing anyone? (Go, Russ Go!)
Acting: Russell is born for this role and is incredible. He is a thug and plays a great thug. Renee Zewellger is “ a sniffling, squinting Kewpie doll “ and gets about 2 scenes as his wife (she doesn’t watch him box: can you blame her?) Giamatti is fantastic and steals the show.
Photography: It ‘s shot in a retro, sepia style and the amazing, beautiful, dull colours make the depression look like a painting.
Wardrobe: It’s all so YSL 40’s with a few Marc Jacobs sweet retro looks thrown in. For someone poverty struck in the Gepression Renee chicly tosses her scarf perfectly around her neck and is immaculate.
Salon Beaute: Renee’s hair is a fright (but who wouldn’t look like that watching all that boxing and Russell Crowe every day?)
Smooches: It’s another film on sport, yawn.
Smokin’ Smooches: Zero. Double yawn
Blood’n’Guts: boxing, boxing and more boxing. Boxing anyone?
Waterproof mascara? Only because you are sobbing, begging the boxing to stop. Chanel mascara is ideal for the ending
Tom Cruise/Alien sighting? No, but I could Box Katie Holmes ears in now she’s pregnant.
Botox? Get a huge double dose injected before you watch the boxing and more boxing and then a bit more boxing….
When Harry met Sally romance Richter scale: 3/10.They trick you with Cinderella in the title.
Rename it: Ugly step sister Man. Or Gladiator goes to Cold Mountain on Seabiscuit for a million dollar Baby.
Worst review: “So square it makes the original Rocky look cutting edge and Million Dollar Baby positively avant-garde by comparison.” NEW YORK POST
Best review: “ Ron Howard’s film is a shamefully ingratiating old-fashioned weepie’.New York Times.
See it or donate to the Prada bag/save Katie fund? Oh, Let me see? What will it be? A divine Prada bag or watching 3 hours of boxing and boxing and more boxing?
