Scallops with Ginger and Lemongrass
Need a fabulous, quick and chic canapé to whip up for your Christmas drinks party? This won’t take a second, then watch as the Christmas crowd go crazy ….over the cooking
from Donna Hay at Marie Claire

You need for 2:
6 scallops in the shell
2 tabs finely chopped lemongrass
2 tabs grated fresh ginger
½ small red chilli finely chopped
1 tab sesame oil
1 tab fish sauce
1 tab Mirin or dry sherry
Juice of a lime or 2
Coriander leaves for accessorizing

·Now chop up chilli, lemongrass, ginger very finely
·Make sure the scallops are clean, give them a rinse but leave them on the shell.
·Toss the chilli, lemongrass, ginger in with the lime juice, sesame oil, fish sauce and mirin.
·Pour a glass of champers or two.
·Sprinkle a little of the marinade over the scallops and then
·Pop the scallops in a steamer and cook for about 4 or 5 minutes
·Take them out and then
·Drizzle the rest of the marinade over the scallops and toss on some coriander for a bit of accessorizing.
·Sensational!

The Plot: It’s ‘Spellbound’ in deep therapy. A meaningful movie which forgot to put in the meaning. A happy family is maybe not so happy. The champion spelling bee daughter thinks she is a mystic; son thinks he is a Hari Krishna, mother is crazy and father is Richard Gere. like any normal family.
Acting: excellent. Max Mingella (son of Anthony) is fab and will be a big star. Ditto young Flora Cross (those huge lips will go far in Hollywood).
Photography: Some beautiful shots, graphics and digital mischief.
Set design: arty, boho, intellectual. Dark wood, books and art. Wardrobe: Boring… no wonder the mother goes crazy.
Salon de Beaute: Juliette Binoche channels Camilla Parker Bowles.
Smooches: out of focus.
