“I’m having them reduced because I want them a bit more pert, I’ve had them eight years now. So it’s time for a new pair and I’ll sell this lot on eBay.” Jordan on her shoes? Bags? No her boobs. Who would buy them?
“I think it’s a really bad idea. It accelerates the aging process by making the muscle atrophic.” Dr. Nicholas Perricone on botox and the uncreased, frozen-smiled faces around New York Fashion week. Time to sell your forehead on e bay .
“It’s very strange, it’s OK if you have a gun, but if you smoke, you are considered a murderer.” Dontatella on being New York
“I eat nothing,” Karl Lagerfeld doesn’t smoke —or eat.
“My problem is being overweight, not in myself — in my luggage, I’m always bringing too many books and papers, cameras and music machines and tons of clothes because I never like to wear the same thing twice … My life is a trunk show” Karl in New York
“Sienna has submerged herself in the part of Edie, who was very, very slim. So she’s cut out all fatty foods. She’s got into the habit of eating less and smoking more. She’s not being stupid” Stupid is as stupid does…her life is not a trunk show.
“I’m a little sick of it. I think when you see me in person, you see that I’m, like, five foot one - I’m a small person. I was never a size 12. I’m so little that I could put on 10 or 15 pounds and it just looks like a lot.” Nicole Ritchie is just sick. She thinks her shortness makes her skinny. (She’ll say she had her cellulite reduced and sold on e bay next)
“ I’VE always said, and I mean it, that I find people better looking without clothes than with clothes,” Tom Ford has been around too many models. Bless
“As long as I’m happy and healthy, that’s all that matters. And as long as you have people around you who support you” Lindsay Lohan on her weight loss (Support you so you can stand up?)
“Leave in Butt Crack” Post-it note left by Tom Ford on Angelina Jolie’s photo for the Vanity Fair editor. An eye for detail
“When I think about a girl when I’m designing shoes, I’m thinking about her naked, The best thing is showgirls. They are naked girls with beautiful shoes. Clothes are too distracting.” Shoe designer Christian Louboutin (What is it with gay men?)
“It’s very bizarre. It’s funny how you work your butt off, win an award and it’s all about your dress. I wish it wasn’t the focus of everything. But having children who are sick on your shoes before you head out to an awards ceremony keeps you grounded.” Reese Witherspoon has not yet met Tom Ford. She does not wear Louboutins.

T2 Rose Tisane

If anyone ever gives you little red rose buds at any time of year they should be tossed out immediately with those little white Baby’s breath they came with. But there is an exception. The rose tisane from T2. These gorgeous little rose buds are just divine thrown in the T2 green tea with strawberries and served ice cold. The perfect little wet drink (as opposed to alcoholic drink) for a romantic summer picnic. Delicious.

A slice of lemon as deodorant

I am not one for doing anything natural in the beauty department. So scary. But I have found a great beauty tip from English Vogue. Use a slice of lemon as deodorant. It really works. Leave it in the fridge then just wipe it under your arms and the acidity in the lemon really does so the trick. I road tested it and even in this heat it works. Plus there is no ugly deodorant stains left on the Gucci or Prada. What a joy. Just don’t grab the lemon slice for your gin and tonic. ewww.

Her Mother’s Daughte : A Memoir of the Mother I Never Knew and of My Daughter, Courtney Love (Hardcover). by Linda Carroll
This is an interesting story: Paula Fox, Courtney Love’s grandmother was put it up for adoption; she then had a daughter as a teen who she put up for adoption. That daughter then had a daughter in her teens who got pregnant too. What a scandal. In 1993, after Courtney Love’s rise to fame and stormy estrangement from her mother Carroll, the author finds her biological mother: Paula Fox. The two are kindred spirits, and it’s a heartwarming twist that the act of writing, on many levels, becomes Carroll’s portal to her past. The promise of dish on Courtney and the emotional reunion with Paula—along with Carroll’ stender wit and poignant honesty (Courtney’s siblings saw her “as glamorous, but with sharp claws and teeth”)—will keep readers soldiering through this often exhaustive history.

Kiss Kiss takes the viewer on an intimate guided tour of all walks of society captured in a way that only Patrick McMullan can—as a welcome friend, not an intruding paparazzo.Lovely.

Chocolate Nut Brownies

Chocolate Nut Brownies served with nectarines drizzled in rosewater Syrup ….. from Good Living
Want to serve something romantic for a Valentines Day picnic? These brownies are simply divine ( full of alcohol) served with fruit in rosewater syrup. The syrup is as easy as making a cup of coffee and takes about 3 mins to cook- literally. Then you can just pour it in a screw top jar to throw in the picnic basket to seve over the nectarines or watermelon.
Easy to whip up ahead of time and light enough to pack for a picnic….(it’s just you who will be heavier at the end of the day).

Brownies (to serve 8 as a dessert)
440g caster sugar
4 eggs
225g plain flour
¼ tsp salt
3 tabs of cocoa powder
150g mleted unsalted butter
1 ½ tabs of Cointreau, Tia Maria or what ever else you have tucked away in the cupboard
90g of peanuts or cashews or any other nuts you have tucked away in the cupboard.

·Preheat oven to 160.
·Chop up the nuts.
·Moisturize the cake tin with lashings of butter and greaseproof paper.
·Beat sugar and eggs till thick and pale ( you will be)
·Fold in flour and salt ..gently please.
·Combine the butter with the cocoa and then fold it into the cocoa mix.
·Add the booze – one for you 2 for the mix, 2 for you ..
·Fold in the chopped nuts.
·Pour into the cake tin.
·Bake for about 45 mins until crunchy on the top but gooey in the middle
·Cut into squares, sprinkle with icing sugar and serve with the nectarines drizzled with rosewater syrup ( see below)

Rosewater syrup…drizzle this over watermelon, nectarines or any other summer fruit.
You need
150ml water
150g sugar
1 cinnamon stick
8 to 10 cardommon seeds
juice of a lime
1 tsp rosewater

·Combine the sugar, water, cinnamon stick and cardommon in a saucepan
·Bring to boil then let it simmer for a few minutes so the flavours infuse.
·Cool completely ( chuck in the fridge)
·Then add the lime juice and rosewater and
·Quickly strain it so you lose the cardommon seeds and of course the cinnamon stick.
Sensational and so easy, talk about falling in love …..

Brokeback Mountain Directed by Ang Lee
Who: Jake Gyllenhaal, Heath Ledger, Michelle Williams.
The Plot: quiet, mumbling Aussie bloke/Cowboy meets spunky handsome big, doe eyed, handsome as they come cowboy. They go huntin’, shootin’, fishin’ and, um, campin’ at Brokeback mountain with a hell of alot sheep. But wait , it’s not what you think. They fall for each other not the sheep. It’s lurve. But wait it’s not what you think. It’s the 1960 so ………………. Acting: Oscars all round. Heath for acting, Jake for being so handsome.
Photography: not as fabulous as I expected from Ang lee.
Set design: It almost makes me want to go camping. Almost. Wardrobe: Did I imagine it or did Heath wear a white hat and Jakey a black one? They always do that in westerns. Marlborough man meets Ralph Lauren fall winter 1980.
Salon de Beaute: love the outrageous 70’s makeup.
Botox? Indispensible for the frowning caused by the fact that this film will win the Oscars instead of George Clooney’s Good Night and Good Luck. Outrageous.
Waterproof mascara? reapply lashings of it, in fact just get your eye lased dyed.
Smooches: yes, yes, yes. It’s double jeopardy with two handsome leading men instead of just one.
Smokin’ smooches: Light my camp fire! The earth didn’t move for me but it did for all the gay guys sitting next to me in the Oxford street cinema. (They were laughing in some parts; please explain)
Best review” Brokeback Mountain is at once the gayest and the least gay Hollywood film I’ve seen, which is another way of saying that Lee has a knack for culling universality from the most specific identities.” L.A. WEEKLY
Best worst review “a monotonous and often inadvertently campy romance that rivals The Hours as the most overrated movie of the decade” LAWRENCE JOURNAL-WORLD
Tom Cruise/Alien sighting: Tom! This role could have yours… why, Oh, why didn’t you go for it? Mission impossible.
Rename it : When Harry met Harry See it or donate to the Prada bag fund? Are Prada bags beautifully made? Are Prada bags stylish? Are Prada bag beautiful too to look at? Are some Prada bags overated? Some would say yes. Are some Prada bags boring? Some would say Yes. But Jake is so handsome you would almost sacrifice a Prada bag for the man.
